Everything Teddy Bridgewater good and bad. Many intelligent NFL people believe Teddy Bridgewater is the best quarterback in this draft and that makes this thread relevant. Still everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just don't make it personal. Teddy Bridgewater Scouting Report: Ryan Lownes <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/br9-OACeru4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Positives He maneuvers the pocket extremely well and keeps his eyes downfield. His pocket awareness and movement are outstanding. Poised and confident Throws with touch and puts the ball where only his receiver can get it Good functional mobility; displays escapability and makes plays on the move Very accurate passer impressed with good ball placement, especially in the short to intermediate levels Displays anticipation and shows the ability to throw his receivers open Resilient, high-character player who thrives in big games and pressure situations Looks to be a comfortable and capable improviser Generally displays good footwork and throwing mechanics, sporting a quick, smooth delivery Quick and fluid in his drop Tough, composed under pressure and willing to step up and take a hit to make the necessary throw Good decision-maker, possesses a high football IQ Tests tight windows confidently in the intermediate areas of the field Throws well on the move, whether he be rolling to his left or right Very efficient on third downs, can beat you with his arm or legs Sells play-fakes well and demonstrates the ability to use his eyes and body position to manipulate coverage He throws with velocity to the intermediate level and displays average to above-average arm strength. He can drive the ball outside of the numbers. Extends plays, is capable of eluding the rush and making something out of nothing Touch passes 20-35 yards downfield are often thrown with perfect trajectory Does a nice job of protecting himself outside of the pocket Has a flexible arm, can deliver accurately from several different arm angles Negatives Some scouts will knock him for his size. Many suspect he may be closer to 6’2” and is built narrowly for a quarterback with fairly small hands. He may not fit minimum specifications for some NFL teams. He has inconsistent deep accuracy; his ball often flutters and misses the mark. He does not always throw the prettiest ball. Occasionally we see tight spirals, but the ball often is wobbly out of his hand. His footwork falls apart at times when he is throwing deep and he fails to drive the ball downfield. Certainly not a dynamic runner; mobility is functional but does not fit the mold of recent game-breaking quarterbacks Aside from the Sugar Bowl victory against Florida as a sophomore, he was not challenged by elite competition in college. Lacks any extraordinary attributes; he is good across the board but lacks elite qualities
A stronger armed, more mobile Matt Ryan please for the love of god, put him on this team. If he goes to the Jags, we will regret it for a decade
I'm not sold on him at 1-1. Small frame and unproven vs. high quality competition. Looked average vs. the best pass defense he faced this year (UH). He's a good player, but at 1-1? I'm not sold.
Ok with him if we trade down and JFF and Clowney are both off the board. Would personally pick Clowney and Manziel ahead of him. Anyone but Bortles.
Im gonna tell you right now, If we trade down we'll be looking at Clowney. Bridgewater will be off the board and there is no way Manziel or Bortles will be drafted high
Then that's good. If we trade down, hopefully someone takes Bridgewater and we have our choice of Clowney or JFF
Why do people think want Manziel???? 3rd round talent????? And you think BOB would be stupid enough to take him in the top 10???????
The last negative sums it up. "Lacks any extraordinary attributes; he is good across the board but lacks elite qualities." He might be the best QB in the draft full of mediocre QBs, but he is not worthy of the top pick. Don't reach just because he's the best of an average lot. Don't commit huge amounts of salary cap space to a non-elite player. Pick Clowney and pick up a QB in round 2 or 3. Murray and Mettenberger could be just as good as Bridgewater, but much more cost effective.
You do realize Luck had the same knock, manning had the same knock, rivers, rodgers, brees, brady, romo, ryan I can go on and on...
The game at the NFL level, is won through your mind Drew Brees said that it take 80% intangibles 20% to be a great qb in this league Id take Drew Brees word over fans on a message board
had bridgewater dominated UH im not convinced tex's opinion would be any different. his whole schtick is to provide a counter argument regardless of the topic. UL had 41 rush attempts against houston to 29 pass attempts, bridgewater still completed 70% including a few drops. the parker deep ball should have been a TD but parker stepped out of bounds before reaching the pile on.. watching the game he looked like teddy bridgewater, made the right throws, beat coverages, kept his eyes downfield while the UH dline was in the backfield plenty. he made plays when flushed out of the pocket. poor oline play made him attempt more passes on the move, still delivered strikes..
Why is there a militia of attackers for anybody who highlights Bridgewater's negatives? Seriously, some of you guys are really emotionally invested in this guy. endoftheworld, you might want to consider tapping the brakes. Too many posts.
BOOM Its a shame, texxx has no type of objectivity at all regarding prospects. Paying too much attention to the box scores instead of watching the games. That UH game should be a lot Bridgewater and what he can do when the rest of his team (specifically o-line) is playing like garbage
