Also post where you're located. I will be in Pasadena, zip code 77504. Staying with the parents as my dad has a generator, a big brisket ready to thaw and cook, a pool and EIGHT cases of beer.
north houston... not north enough though. 77076. We are boarding up and got water and food. But we may end up going further north to my aunts house. If it was up to me I would stay put but my parents are freakin out. Of course my aunt lives right off 45 and richey so its not that much further north.
In The Heights, 77008. I've got batteries for the flashlights/radio, enough food to last a couple of days, 4 cases of water, and about 30 beers. I should be good to go.
77042 I want to go, wife wants to stay. Alicia was 15 hours of howling winds and cracking trees. It's just not as much fun as all the macho posturing makes it out to be. when you can just hop in the car tomorrow morning and take a little drive, watch it on TV, call your answering machine when it's over to see if you have power and then mosey home.
Katy, 77450. A carton of Newports, a 6-pack of Newcastles (enough for me) and hopefully at least one of the following: internet, satellite tv. Got the PS3 and some DVDs just in case.
West Houston, 77055, 2nd floor of a 2 story apartment complex. May go stay with the girlfriend though, and she's in the 1st floor of a 3 story complex in River Oaks, 77019. My parents are hunkering down in their house in Southeast Houston, 77089. They're juuuuust north of the mandatory evacuations, and would probably come stay with with if it weren't for their 8 pets.
Am I the only one that thinks it's a little crazy to get drunk/buzzed while a storm is bearing down on you? There may be moments that you need to be sober for...namely flooding, damage to your windows/roof, maybe even injuries to family members or pets. I mean, do what you want, but when I see people saying they bought so many cases of beer like it's a frat party, it worries me a little.
