Pearland........Far NE side of Brazoria County and walking distance from both Harris and Galveston Counties. Zone C.

Got my wife, mother-in-law, and seven week old........along with one of my nephews. Four vehicles with full tanks, plenty of food and water, plenty of charcoal and propane, a full liquor cabinet and >400 bottles of wine. I'm good to go.

My house is old and covered with trees, so I cant stay there even though I would like to. Staying with the parents near Briar Forest and the Beltway, although I wish I were staying with some buddies.

It's not for the storm, although I will have a few but not to get drunk. It's for AFTER the storm when all of the power is out and the stores are closed.

    I am prepared.

Gotcha. I'm sure lots of people aren't going to wait as long as you to crack open their beers though.

"Woohoo! Here I am. Rock me like a hurricane!!! Hey, that mailbox just went through my bay window, but who cares? I'm wasted! Woohooooo!"

    :p

We just mixed up our first batch of hurricanes!!!

We are in Westbury, 77096, and will stay here. My biggest concern is the 2 big pine trees in the front yard. I was one of the idiots who evacuated during Rita, only to feel like a fool after driving 26 hrs and we didn't even lose power here.

We have a full deep freeze that we may need to use up if the power is out for a long time. A pool to use to flush toilets.

But, I am really hoping Ike is going to pull a Rita and keep trending east.

    Katy area..

The in laws want the wife and I to go over to their place, but I was there for Rita and they were crazy.. I remember they wouldn't let us go upstairs plug in the TV or take a shower all while it was still sunny and fine out side.. I said "F" this and booked it the same day back to my house and the power didn't even go out.. I'm never going back to their place during a storm, well that's if I can keep the woman on my side of the argument..
