I blame Darryl Morey . . . FOR THE STAT INFESTED CRAPTASTIC BASKETBALL DISCUSSION!!! Goodness . . Just watch the games! I am tired of every thread denigrating into some BS Stat GeeKfest Talk about the pick and roll Talk about defensive rotations Talk about ball or player movement I am sick of hearing about PER48 and +/- and Point differentials-when-playing-east-coast-teams-with-left-handed-centers-when-Saturn-is-in-pluto!!! [I won't even mention the ridiculousness that is known as the ambiguous term basketball IQ ] This is BASKETBALL .. .. not BASE[boring]BALL!!! [/rant] and one more thing . .. IT HAS ONLY BEEN 3 GAMES!!! Calm down!!! SIMMADOWNNAH!!!! Rocket River [Putting on my Flame Retartent suit and pocket protector protector!!]
We you are 0-3, the only thing to talk about is the RPDs. Wouldn't it be great if every thread denigratied into RPD degeneration.
More like "durvasa confused." I don't know what posts the OP is referring to. I would love more basketball discussion and less ranting about who needs to be fired or traded away 3 games in.
I blame Morey for not convincing Les that we can't win big with Yao. It's been obvious for a long damn time that we cannot win with Yao as the primary star player or max salary player but not only here we are again, we're here again with minute limitations. It's ridiculous and we're nearing a point where nobody is going to give much value for Yao because of his age, salary, and continuing injury problems. The window on getting good value for Yao is closing.
0-3, we say: STATS DON'T MEAN ANYTHING!!! 3-0, we say: Daryl Morey is a statistical genius! If it works, it's a great idea. If it doesn't, it's terrible.
OK, how about this: the whole problem with our PnR offense and defensive rotation is our PG's number is 0, which negates all our coaches formulas for success. think about it.
...yes there's simple and general stuff to address, like effort and lack of concentration/focus..but those problems cause the trends that are seen in the stats and numbers posted. It's all related.
What Daryl Morey posted after the game: [rquoter]Too many mental errors to beat a solid team.Poor shot selection&gave in on D w/fouls&off reb.We have strong competitors who will bounce back[/rquoter] What are we blaming him for, again?
If you think stats in basketball discussion suddenly existed because of Morey, you haven't been paying attention.
Don't blame Morey...blame SamFisher and Carl Herrera. That said, I prefer a discussion of stats to any knee-jerk threads.
I blame Morey for trading our 4th quarter closer last year!!!!! Carl Landry!!!!!! Was #1 in 4th quarter scoring until we traded his ass.
