It is good that high level assets around the NBA are beginning to see HOU as a good situation. More evidence that the team should not throw away its upcoming cap room too easily.

Smith said waaay back in 09 that hakeem was one of his favorite players all time, and didn't mind playing for houston many times before.

I think he would be a good fit actually, if we can reign him in somehow...

Josh Smith liked us before we were cool.

Yeah, I'm glad he was on board before we got... better.

Hopefully we can attract more high profile players with Harden becoming a star in the making.

He is not the answer unless Rockets want to build Houston Hawks.

Smith seems inefficient, but I trust Morey to evaluate his worth accurately.

I get the sense Cousins would like to play here

He is very dynamic, a good shot-blocker and decent passer. But he doesn't seem like the smartest guy - and he would make us the worst free-throw shooting team in the league, together with Asik.

Certainly an upgrade over Patterson and Morris, but probably at too much of a cost, as he would not put us over the top.

Lin's assist would go up by like 5 per game playing with Smith.

"Among the teams that would appeal to Smith are Dallas, Houston and Memphis, a league source told CBSSports.com."

Thread topic made it sound like Josh smith said he was appealed by us. That was strictly the writer playing armchair gm

Jason Friedman observed recently that the best fit for us would be a pick-and-pop big who can hit the 3-pointer at a high efficiency (e.g. a Ryan Anderson). Alternatively, a strong pick-and-roll finisher would be a good add (maybe Gortat would make sense in this role).

Does Josh Smith fit in well as a pick-and-pop or pick-and-roll guy?
