I assumed it was going to be 4/60 but then again, this can be a #dirtybusiness...

That was previously. Under the matched Nets contract.

I think now its not in there anymore. But maybe I'm making that part up??

Wait, here it was the prior Marks tweet. Maybe he's wrong:

Not quite. We still don't have the "How many minutes should Dmo have", "Who should those minutes go to", "5 or 4", etc threads.

If they ripped up offer sheet to sign new contract, DMo has no Veto-Power on trades anymore.

Wonder if BJ negotiated that back in, at least.

Seems like a fair deal for both sides. DMO gets his additional $$$, higher guarantee for this season and Morey has team options for the next few summers.

Now lets get back to basketball and hopefully DMO will be able to catch up to speed in a couple weeks.

BTW Armstrong is a GOAT agent..lol

This part is still confusing to me.

His (Marks) previous tweet says DMo did not get veto power in this new deal as he would have in the matched Nets deal.

Which is it? It makes a pretty big difference.... you could still trade him to a team with cap space/TE who just wants his production and Rockets just want the cap space... .but you'd lose the ability to trade him to a team this offseason to a team that really needs cap space. Even if the Rockets didn't need that space for anything, unless DMo blows us away with his play this year, I'd still happily trade him to a team for a protected lotto pick (basically the Pistons pick) this year.

    Which is it?

Secondary question out of curiosity... is the year 1 salary the whole amount, or pro-rated based on games missed?

Here is another that implies full ride rights...

Now watch Morey wait to the very last hour every summer on whether he wants to pick up D-Mo's option. Make that boy sweat because he deserves it.

I corrected my post...Had it right first...changed it because thought Marks said something else (i'm moving too fast)...and editing it back in.

No Trade Veto Power unless BJ negotiated that back into the new contract.

Man this is crazy. I like D-Mo but come on man he needs to understand what offer he got from the rockets is the best out there. The rockets are playing on a high level right now and don't need D-Mo as a distraction. Just shut up and take the money and play basketball......

But the seams! JB founds the seams!

    1. Fails all year long to get any offer or SnT.
    2. Lets QO expire, and many Cap Experts think that was best deal, in hindsight to new
    3. Turns down $8m in Summer, and $7m + Incentives to $8m just recently from Rockets
    4. Signs $37m/4yr from Nets with March 1st waive date
    5. Morey schools him by matching an pointing out deal is only $31m for Rockets
    6. BJ embarrassingly asked his client to Hold Out, and
with "I'll get you those bonuses. I will SHOW YOU THE MONEY"
    7. Final deal
      1. $31m base + $4m Bonuses = $35m
      2. DMo loses his March 1st Waive date for July 7th
      3. DMo loses his Trade Veto Power that came with a match, since this is a new Deal directly with Rox

Seams like DMo didn't get his money after all. BJ negotiated downwards.

Something tells me those new bonuses are player-related and not team-related.

Under the "matched" offer sheet. That was the old contract. Not the new one

Poor DMo. He chose agents poorly. Whatever, glad he's back with the team.
