From the article: You've got to be kidding me. Only good from that would be watching Luis and Kyle win rings.
Is he trying to screw over the Rockets? No way am I giving up both Scola AND Kyle AND Patterson for Baby Bosh. Scola, Brad Miller and a pick tops. Scola will be as serviceable for them as Bosh is, Brad is an expiring after this year and a pick to help them stock up young talent. I would rather keep Patterson at this point.
Yeah, that's a horrible trade for the Rockets. They give up a legit starting point guard, and a young prospect at PF for a slight upgrade at the starting PF spot.
yeah i'm having a hard time believing that as well. i mean, tyson chandler and the mavs being called for fouls? come on, now.
I think Simmons' ego has jumped 10 fold ever since ESPN thought it'd be a good idea to give Simmons his own website. One example: You. Have. Got. To. Be. F***ing. Kidding. Me. Dirk's a Top 5 POWER forward to be sure no matter what the outcome is in this year's Finals (barring a gigantic choke by him) but to say he's on the same level as Duncan? WOW.
Scola+Patterson+Lowry. That is insane and no. I would do that for John Wall or Kevin Durant, but barely.
Tim Duncan is criminally underrated. He's always mentioned as the greatest PF ever, but few people mention him as a top 10 all-time player, and somehow Kobe leapfrogged him in most people's all-time list despite the fact that TD has done more with less throughout his career.
To be fair, he said MAYBE. Duncan had Robinson, Ginobili, Parker, and Bowen. Dirk is doing it now with the 2nd best player being, uh, Terry? Marion? A 38 yo Kidd? Just saying.... but yeah, he's only excelling on 1 end of the floor.
Agree with him or not, Bill Simmons is one excellent writer. If he were born in Soviet Russia, he would have been Stalin's personal biographer.
[Bill Simmons] Trade that makes sense: Bosh for Scola, Lowry, Patterson http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6649101/dizzying-highs-terrifying-lows As a footnote in his column on the NBA's momentum and stature being squandered in a lockout, and the implications of the Heat possibly losing the finals, Simmons wrote on the possibility of Bosh being scapegoated Now, I'm as big a fan of Simmons as ANYONE, but good lord would this trade be terrible for the Rockets. Thoughts?
