I keep hearing people say the Lakers want Yao, i'm sure every team wants Yao, but how far as the Lakers willing to go to get him? Any thoughts?
Dude, theres a thread on this allready & theres no way the Rox would ever trade Yao. That said this topic will be really popular in some years when it comes to Yao makings a decition on where he wants to play.
ummm...about as serious as we are about getting KG or Duncan. We'd love to have them, but it ain't happening anytime in the near future.
Besides, nobody can offer more money than Houston. These teams can clear up all the cap space they want, it's not going to matter. The Rockets will have to do something really stupid to lose Yao, though I wouldn't put it past them...
Good news is that we will be able to offer more than any other teams out there. Bad News is that Yao doesnt strike me as money hungry person. Remember he sued coke for $1 just on principle.
How serious are the Lakers about getting Yao? I don't see how that is a legit question right now. Who knows. If Yao keeps playing to this level or close to it, then every team in the league will sell their souls to get him. It's like someone told me a few years ago about why CD and all GMs have to be careful what they say. If you worked for the Rockets, and some reporter goes, "What would it be like to have Shaq on your team?" And you're like: "Shaq? He's such a force. We'd love to have him." HEADLINE NEXT DAY: "Rockets Interested In Shaq". Uh, yeah no kidding. And ditto Yao. Every team will be or is already interested in Yao. Every team.
My source tells me that this will happen in the near future. Of course, my 'source' is a voice I hear in my head. A female voice. She lives beyond the grace of God. She is "vampyr", "nosferatu". These creatures do not die like the bee after a first sting, but instead grow strong once infected by another nosferatu. My friends we fight not one beast but legions living age after age after age, feeding off of the blood of the living. So take it for what it's worth...
I can not believe this dead horse is still running around. chinese gov might collect 10% of it but to think they will collect 50% is just a joke
same here. shaq is the dominant player now. yao will be tomorrow. and yao just showed that last night. shaq is goin to his prime while yao is a couple of steps away and its just his 2nd season. so, trade declined!
1. YM can leave if he really wants to, and there's nothing the Rockets can do to stop him. 2. It's impossible to know what's bouncing around in his head, because we don't know him. 3. Even if YM took a pay cut to play in NY or LA, he could easily make up the difference by taking advantage of more media opportunities in either of those two cites. 4. Other teams could offer to completely rebuild their roster and team around him. It's not out of the realm of possibility that YM jumps to another team. Raven
Aren't they having problems with Phil Jacksons contract nego. Hope they don't decide on another championship caliber coach. R.T.
