The loss of Chandler, Aminu and Ellis still leaves a huge hole. Let's say they do land Jordan.

    Harris
    Matthews
    Parsons
    Dirk
    Jordan

Is that striking fear into anyone?

Nope. Likely at the bottom fighting for the last playoff spot

i'm not too keen about DJ joining the Mavs. or LMA for that matter. i think this opens things up.

DJ going to the Mavs is way better than him stay with the Clips for us. There aren't any major bigs to replace Jordan for the Clips, so they're gonna take a huge hit. DJ to the Mavs doesn't move the needle to legitimate contender.

First, it's a big "if" to see if WM returns anywhere close to form.

Let's say, for his sake, he gets back to 85-90% of his old self.

Now compare getting setup from Aldridge and Lillard versus... setups from ancient, part-time Dirk & Portions.

I will bet, based on his injury and his new setting, that his overall numbers and efficiency will drop. Still, pending Dirk's health this year, this guy could easily end up as their leading scorer.

Given their nearly hopeless situation, I actually applaud this signing. Not a lot else Cuban could do other than completely blow it up.

Definitely agree. The days of dirk being a 20 pt scorer are behind him I think. So it's either wm or parsons leading a team in scoring which is pretty laughable

    From the Other Thread

Is this a case of California Taxes [SacTown ]versus Texas [dallas]No Taxes?

If the money is all the same?

I am sure that has played a part. He can take less from Mavs and still make the same after taxes in CA.

But the even bigger issue is the the dysfunctional Kings franchise.

Karl and Cousins went through PMS right before free agency. What a bunch of ****ing morons. Way to advertise yourself as nincompoops.

Why would anyone willingly go there to live through that drama for god knows how long???

Opens things up for what exactly? Dallas has Parsons on a max contract, they gave DJ 20M per and is giving this guy 12M per. How much money do they have left?
