Not this again! Last season was bad enough but now we have legit centers in smith and aldrich behind Asik. PPAT is a PF.. just because he's strong doesn't mean he can play C, he's no Chuck Hayes.
He has not been as affective lately. He is not gobbling up the rebounds like he was. I think he has hit a bit of a wall. I don't think Asiks deminished production is a result of less playing time. I think Asiks deminished playing time is a result of less production.
Not sure what is going on with Asik but I'm not too worried. He has such a great work ethics that whatever it is I'm sure it's just temporary.
Asik is our "big" center, and we haven't played many big PFs or Centers recently. He will be fine. In the meantime, he needs to get some rest.
Teams have been going small on us. His ability to eat up space is negated when the floor is that spread. Also, he doesn't have the post game to punish them for it.
I think the starter minutes, back2backs and our pace are a little too much for the big guy to take at once. Maybe they're just monitoring his minutes. But I think we should brace ourselves for the imminent "Omer is a JOKE!!!!111!" thread from some knee-JERK if he has a couple more quiet games.
Anyone think the staff can help him develop a serviceable post game? I don't know....maybe a square peg and round hole situation, but it'd be great if he could develop one.
