Rockets were interested in Thabo a year before Morey came over from Boston. I don't think Bulls will give up Thabo though. Playing PG/SG he'll replace Duhon, whose party lifestyle Bulls management are unhappy with, and is insurance if Gordon doesn't re-sign.
How about Andre Miller? Since mid-December, the Sixers have been trying to ship him out. And Chris Sheridan at ESPN said that it's "hard to see why Philadelphia wouldn't be willing to ship Miller to Miami for [Jason] Williams if the Heat were willing to give up an unprotected No. 1 pick in the 2010 draft." If Williams, a streak-shooting streetballer , is a viable trade candidate for Miller... then what about Rafer? Williams: FG%: .378 3P%: .343 AST: 5.1 TO: 1.46 PTS: 8.9 Alston: FG%: .393 3P%: .329 AST: 5.1 TO: 2.17 PTS: 11.6 In order to make the contracts work, we'd have to throw in Mike James, who's riding the pine anyways. We'd undoubtedly have to sweeten the deal with our pick as well, since the entire basis for sending Miller to the Heat would be to acquire that high lottery pick they'll inevitably have. But it'd stick with our "WIN-NOW" mentality, I guess. Miller's a proven scorer and runs the point as competently as Rafer does, if not moreso. He's only 31, and, using Cassell, Nash, and Kidd as a basis, he's got at least 4-5 good years left on him. And as a kicker, he's not injury-prone. Chemistry issues aside (particularly T-Mac's affinity for Skip), this trade could be the sort of mid-season shakeup to put us over the hump, IMO.
Rafer has two years left on his deal after this one. Jason Williams is an expiring contract, which is the only reason Philly would want to consider the deal. And Philly won't get Miami's lotto pick this year for Andre Miller, believe me.
True that... I go to Indiana University, and, having attended all of our home games this season, the prospect of acquiring Eric Gordon or another one of those mega-freshman has to seem awfully appealing.
Brooks and a first rounder - yes Landry - no. I think Landry is our future at PF. Scola will end up being an energy guy off the bench.
If Spurs keep on spluttering without Parker & Barry... Mike James for an injured Barry. Barry could give the shooting the Rockets need at PG. If Landry is only on a 1 year deal, ie no team option for next season. Take a gamble on Sean Williams. Hayes+Landry for Williams. Nets would immediately strengthen their frontcourt. Rockets are chancing on getting a double-double guy with bonafide shotblocking ability.
LOL. Duhon is a priest compared to the avg NBA player. I don't know where you're getting your information from but it's incorrect. The guy is social but does not make a mess of himself. He's also one of the most accessible guys in the NBA if you ever get a chance to run into him.
nothing serious will happen this deadline. snyder and a future second rounder to seattle for seattle's trade exception.
Are you kidding? Brooks+first rounder is far from Calderon's value. I will let Raptors to pick any two of our players other than YM&Tmac + 1pick just to land Calderon. My God, why pistons do this? if we can also trade hayes/scolar for sheed, we have the best starting 5 of the decade: billups/rip/prince/sheed/yao
Package up the riff raff for a legit back up C. Someone who can play 12 - 15 minutes and not embarrass himself, maybe score a few garbage buckets, alter some shots, and hit the glass hard.
