Jennings (top-tier coming into this year at least), Braylon (top tier at the time--fallen off since), Roddy White, Steve Smith in his 3rd year (CAR), Ochocinco, Rod Smith... those are the ones I found quickly at least.

Jerry Rice and his 3rd year of 22 TDs:

edit: I will concede that there aren't as many as I thought. But at the same time, I think there is certainly something to what Jerry Rice says above...and that as much credit as Favre gets in Sidney Rice's development, I think that much should also go to the fact that he's older, more comfortable, and has a non-crap QB (i.e. anyone that's at least average)

Jennings went from 600 to 900 to 1200 yards in his first 3 years. Edwards went from 500 to 900 to 1300. Steve Smith went from 150 to 900 to 1100. Ochocinco went from 300 to 1200 to 1400. These are all normal progressions for receivers.

Rod Smith had a huge jump and fits the mold. Roddy White certainly had a big out-of-nowhere leap, but that coincided with a change at QB to a guy who could throw a football. Jerry Rice actually went from 900 yards to 1500 yards back down to 1100 in his 3rd year.

Meanwhile, Sidney Rice went from 400 down to 100 to 1300. That doesn't look much anything like any of the above receivers except Rod Smith.

I knew you wouldn't pay. I was a very very good sport about this whole thing up until about a week ago BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T PAID. If you go look at this very thread, when the bet ended, I was a good sportsman, I told you it was close, I told you it was fun, and I pretty much ended it, go read it again. I got increasingly more aggressive with you in other posts as days and even weeks went on without seeing a dime out of you. And now you are going to blame "not paying" because I wasn't a good sport?

You lost a bet Ben. You lost a bet that you said wouldn't even be close. The entire bbs is my witness. You are showing your true colors right now. I knew you wouldn't pay. I mean, I realize your just a journalist and you probably don't make much money, but if that's the case you shouldn't have made the bet and then AGREED to double it on top of that.

to be fair to the cat, and I agree he can be arrogant, the only reason he lost the bet is because brett farve had one of the best years at age 40 in a HOF.

at the beginning, eveyone really thought the bet was going to to come down to schaub's year, whether he could last and improve, well schaub came through, its just that farve had a sensational year even by his standards

If he doesn't pay on this bet, will that change how you feel about him? I think it shows his true colors.

First of all, there was no agreement on when anything would be paid. Aside from that, weeks? The season just ended two weeks ago - and barely one week had passed, and you started the entire personal mess all over again. I told you I would pay you shortly. If waiting a week was too long for you, you had a number of options you could have pursued. You could have told me in this thread. You could have sent me an email. No, instead you showed your true colors and went the personal attack route.

My financial standing is just fine, and someone will be receiving money from me. But you yourself mentioned the tip jar in one of your alternative "proposals", and that is becoming an increasingly likely option with each personal attack out of your mouth.

That's great. Because with your track record around here, you are the last person I'd want on my side.

It doesn't really change anything. To be fair, he's made stupid bets before (i.e. betting me that Tony Hollings would one day be a 1000 yard back in this league, or Trung Candidate would have a better year than Warrick Dunn) but I've been wrong before as well. I thought Peerless Price was hot **** in a champagne glass when he was more warm piss in a dixie cup.

Nobody really knows what will always happen in the NFL, which is why it makes it one of the most entertaining sports to follow year in year out.

Personally, You've been quite a D-bag yourself since you've "won" things. You want to talk about "everyone" witnessing this bet with The Cat. How about "everyone" agreeing that your gloating threads were crass and shamelessly arrogant.

But hey... congrats, you barely won a bet. You proved you were right.

    Enjoying it much?

The sad thing is that throughout the season, I gave you "proposals" to send $50 to the tip jar and I'd call the bet off and you were too arrogant to do so, so because of that you are now out $200 instead of $50.

And other than calling you what you are in this thread, an arrogant douche, please show examples of other personal attacks. I think someone is overreacting and digging for reasons not to pay.

To Vinsanity's credit, he offered to let a $50 donation to the Haiti relief funds nullify the bet... that was a more than reasonable thing to do. Why cat didn't do it, I don't know.

Warned you after each and every one of them. Your responses to each had nothing to do with the substance of any discussion in those threads and were only intended as a shot at me.

Other than the UT/Bama thread (which I apologized for & was drinking). What gloating threads are you talking about?

I don't care that I was right, doesn't matter to me at all. But I do care that he was WRONG. I don't like him, and based on some of the rep comments I've received from this very thread, many others feel the same way. Whether they will speak up here is up to them.

It's because he has no intentions on paying ANYTHING. Its absolutely a shame that anywould would paint me to be the bad guy even after I've offered numerous times for him to send the money to the tip jar or even to the Haiti relief effort and NOT TO ME.

It was in the Haiti thread and I emailed you through the board and you didn't accept it.

Just forget it Ben, its over with, don't pay. I'm dropping it. You win.
