    Welp, it's speculation time again.

I've seen Bud Black floated around the Twittersphere if he were to be let go by the Padres. And even Craig Biggio as well! (I hope the latter does not happen)

Not sure why, but I have a feeling Adam Everett will have a strong shot at this one.

Totally agree with Beard. Everett will be the guy.

What's Jeff Kent doing these days? We need an a-hole to beat up our players.

I would agree, but the present Astros management team has a problem signing #1 picks.

I wonder where the complications were with Correa and Appel.

Manager needs to be on the same page as the GM or the new manager will be fired before 3 seasons are done. The new owner is a joke he wants to be a top winning team with a 25million or under payroll and AA or AAA level players  With our team playing teams like the Yankees Boston Whitesocks we stand no chance with a team of mostly chumps

Part of me hopes that Nevin is picked, but only after Jeter becomes available just to keep it consistent.

That being said, I would be okay with Everett. We are in the AL. I feel like you just need to be likable, occasionally put the right pitcher in, know the rules (lookin' at you, Bo), and platoon correctly.

I think whoever we pick, he will need to be pro-SABR.

Not sure how well he'd do at "taking orders"... but 1"M" would buy into the organizational philosophy of analytic-based lineups/shifts/bullpen decisions... hell, he was doing those things with an abacus while the entire front office was still learning how to potty train themselves (and in the case of some, analytics told them that potty training was inefficient, and they've stuck with diapers).

Hell, Everett could still probably play a better SS than anybody else we have on the big league roster.

And his hitting would fit right in with them too.

Yep... as bad as he was, he was never as bad as some of these guys who have gotten way more AB's than ever warranted over the last couple of seasons.

I used to live next to him in Houston, he wasn't as bad as you'd think.
