Anyone checking this out? It's getting rave reviews. It seems like a lot of Aziz's stand up premises explored in a refined way with Alan Yang's (from Parks and Rec) vision.

I think he can with a good supporting cast. His acting pretty terrible when he has to be anything other than goofy, but the writing covers it up a bit.

Love Aziz, breaking down barriers. Gotta love that. I don't find him super hilarious or anything but I do admire his work.

Watched up to episode 7 so far. It is def binge worthy. Love that its not a wacky comedy but a dramedy.

I only caught a few episodes of Brooklyn 99, but Sandberg is doing well with a good supporting cast

Fun fact: his parents on the show are his actual parents.

Russell Peters, I know you are aching for that Aziz money. He's probably more successful in Canada than he is in the states. In terms of quality, I think Aziz has him beat. Although I think Peters is a lot funnier in his stand up than Aziz is.

I think Russell is way overrated, and his jokes are old. They are hilarious as high school students and to foreigners. He repeats his jokes a lot.

And also, isn't Russell Peters one of the highest paid comedians?

Yes, I just googled it. I was surprised he was doing those kinds of numbers. I can see your argument about Peters but to me, his material I can kind of relate to a little, his Indian stereotypes makes me laugh more. Now aside from Stand up, he can't really do much or act so Aziz has him beat in that apartment. Aziz is more talented but I find Peters funnier I guess.

The dynamic between Samberg and Braugher is great, really well developed. I worry the whole romantic subplot could derail the show like Mindy Project.

I just finished the whole season and thought it was really good. The love story was like a funnier, longer version of 500 days of Summer. Even Rachel kind of looks like Zooey Deschanel.

Overally, I think the story was pretty much Aziz's biography and each episode felt like a 30 minute comedy short that was really well done.

Hats off to Netflix for another gem.

The tone and style is in the ballpark of Louis. Just watched the first episode, looks promising.
