The episodes directed by Eric Wareheim (big white guy who plays his best friend) were excellent. Other than that I was meh on this season.
I'm enjoying season 2. the deaf couple arguing about sex in the store and then the kids whose mom was deaf running around signing vagina was hilarious.
The acting in this show is so bad that it's sometimes endearing. Plot lines are cool though. Very honest and relatable for me personally. Like the show overall. I think a better-executed version is possible but the ideas behind the show and formulating the episodes are great.
I haven't taken to season two like I did to season one. Shame because I like Aziz and what he brings. I suppose I can try to keep watching but the first 2 or 3 episodes were meh to me.
I actually liked Season 2 better than Season 1. The black and white episode, New York episode and the one with his friend coming out to her mom were all brilliant and better than anything in season 1.
Have you been married for a while? Wondering if it's just separation from being single that makes you forget that this silly stuff continues to happen--at least once in a while--regardless of age. At least to many people.
Nah, love stories of these proportions are reserved strictly for romance novels marketed to 6-10th grade women, and the occasional BBS user (who probably goes to UH) that makes a thread about being friend zoned.
yea . . the acting can be cringe worthy Several I was sitting there like. . SERIOUSLY???? The storylines are ok . . nothing major . . . . .poor man's seinfeld or that Louis CK Show . . .which was really kind of boring most of the time too. Rocket River
I think Louie is a similar show for an older audience. As someone in their late 20s, I find his show super boring, but I find this show incredibly relatable
I'm 30. Neither show is really relatable for me. Dev's "problems" are kinda juvenile, and I know less about the bar hopping Tinder crowd than I do the dad crowd. Master of None really let me down with the way it stumbled through the finish line of season 2. Don't get me wrong though, this show is still much better than 99% of shows out there and I will watch season 3. But I can't help but see it as a karaoke version of Louie - at least for now.
Yes. JUVENILE. Coming from someone of Aziz's age (and long standing fame) it doesn't feel authentic at all. Bar hopping & Tinder - I'm fine with. But the way his character handles relationships and relationship problems = misfire.
I thought the season was good, mainly because I liked the "Italian" spin. Yeah, the love story was a bit campy - but that wasn't the entirety of the season, and the actress he chose was awesome so I didn't mind it. I do think Aziz is best when he tries to navigate through the craziness that is the dating world, and as he was pining for one girl nearly all season it wasn't as interesting of a take. I still love the show though.
The show was just kind of meh . . . . He kind of turned on Chef Jeff rather quickly . . . I mean there weren't friends but . . . he came off as a bit of a ****** The romance thing made him kind of d***ish too This season did not make Dev look like a good/great guy . . . . Rocket River
