That's why I'm all aboard. Chinatown is one of my favorite movies.

"What happened to your nose, Gittes? Somebody slammed a bedroom window on it?"

"Nope. Your wife got excited. She crossed her legs a little too quick. You understand what I mean, pal?"

I think things had weight but were disregarded by Woody's character who was more distracted by other things.

The daughter recreating a sex scene with 5 men using her dolls had to be something

    Spoilers for episode 1 &2

    one thing I noticed . . .

In episode 1, whoever was driving Caspere around, had that gold eagle looking helmet or statue in the car with them.

End os episode 2, Velcoro was blasted by someone in a black bird/eagle type of mask, did that come off the wall in that house?

Just a thought, could be nothing.

Yeah, but it could be just flashbacks though. Or he is given inactive credit. I hope he didn't die and it was rock salt or something.

They introduced a son and now an ex wife, there's just about no chance he's dead or they really wasted over half of 2 episodes just to develop a character to kill off. Seems excessive.

Literature and film allows for literary constructs outside of reality for the purpose of creating points of view outside normal space and time. We don't know what the author has in mind yet. This is the opening scene of Sunset Boulevard yet, the man in the pool is the main character. Pretty cool visual from 1950.

    Vince Vaughn still can't act.

I mean that scene at the very end, no idea what emotion he was trying to convey.

Scared? Fighting for his life? Someone is killing folks around him. I've really liked Colin Ferrell in this season and Rachel McAdams is doing good too.
