My top fantasy league is one that is full of trades and acquisitions throughout the season. I was offered my first trade today and here it is. Opponent's team receives Steven Jackson Pun's team receives Steve Slayton and Braylon Edwards I also have another offer for Jackson although that team has not made it clear who they would offer in return for him. Jackson seems to be garnering a lot of interest for me even though he was hurt a lot last year. Here is my team: QBs: Donovan McNabb, Brett Favre RBs: Steven Jackson, Brian Westbrook, Felix Jones, Ladell Betts WRs: Marques Colston, Antonio Bryant, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Devin Thomas, Brandon Marshall TEs: Dallas Clark, Brent Celek DEFs: Minnesota, Carolina K: Rob Bironas Here is opponent's team: QBs: Jay Cutler, Matt Hasselbeck RBs: Steve Slayton, Ryan Grant, Kevin Smith, Ahmad Bradshaw, Chester Taylor, Cadillac Williams, Mike Bell WRs: Braylon Edwards, Randy Moss, Devin Hester, Joey Galloway, Roy E. Williams TEs: Jason Witten DEFs: Chicago K: N/A Is the first trade a good one?
I personally hate Braylon after he burned me so bad last year. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. I'd stand pat until you know more about Marshall.
I think it's a good deal for you. I have Slaton and S-Jax ranked close together and Braylon Edwards is a quality player. I would definitely consider it!
I am mulling it over, especially since Houston has a schedule full of teams that are bad or average against the run. Does Slaton share carries much?
Not really, there is chris brown, but he has back issues and although he hase made it through the pre season so far, he probably will miss significant time this year.
Slaton is also small and his size worries me that he won't get as many touches as a normal running back.
Braylon should have a bounce back year. I don't think he will get anywhere near his spectacular 07 season, but I'd settle for the average between 07 and 08. I like Ray Rice a lot more than others seem to, I think he will get a lot of carries and produce 1200 yards and 10 TDs.
12 man team had the last pick Lefor3 1. (10) Larry Fitzgerald 2. (11) Andre Johnson 3. (30) Marion Barber 4. (31) Kevin Smith 5. (50) Braylon Edwards 6. (51) Pierre Thomas 7. (70) Joseph Addai 8. (71) Matt Schaub 9. (90) Felix Jones 10. (91) Torry Holt 11. (110) Visanthe Shiancoe 12. (111) Chris Henry 13. (130) Ray Rice 14. (131) Trent Edwards 15. (150) Tampa Bay I need a Kicker since I didn't draft one. Who would you drop for a kicker? I'm hesitant to drop any RB's since my RB core is weak and i'm hoping someone has a breakout year. It is a PPR league as well. Opinions on who to drop?
Got a couple of trades in the boiler.... Give: Donovan McNabb Terrell Owens Chicago Defense Get: Greg Jennings Brett Favre Baltimore Defense or Give: Donovan McNabb Terrell Owens Get: Matt Ryan Dwayne Bowe or Give: Donovan McNabb Terrell Owens Chicago Defense Get: Ben Roethlisburger/Eli Manning (my choice) Randy Moss/Reggie Wayne (my choice) Minnesota Defense Which one would you do and why? and which ones wouldn't you do?
Roethlisberger / Moss for McNabb / Owens and the Minny D over Chicago D is a pretty tempting deal. I'd avoid the other 2 though. Dwayne Bowe has been plummeting since the KC offense started to unravel before the 1st game even started.
If it makes any difference, McNabb is my backup... Brady is my starter. So I don't mind letting him go for a slightly less valuable player at a position I am looking to bolster. And in trade scenario 1, I'm going to dump Favre once I get him and pick up Garrard, Cassel, Orton, Edwards, or Pennington from the trash heap.... I think Jennings is just going to explode this year
if McNabb is your backup then I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if you can nab Jennings or double up with Moss.
Ill go ahead and post my entire team... QB: Tom Brady, Donovan McNabb RB: DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, Jonathan Stewart, Joe Addai, Donald Brown W/T: Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco, Chris Henry K: Ryan Longwell DEF: Bears I'm fairly deep at WR... but I think T.O. is garbage... I got him late in the draft and I want to jettison him... Ideally I would like to ditch White too and get a solid #1 RB... but I can't seem to make that work in a package deal
There's no possible way that's your squad unless its like a 5 team league. Not hating, good team though. If anything, if your confident in Brady's health you don't need Mcnabb, just try to land a better #2 RB. You have good trade bait with Mcnabb and T.O./85.
I always join a yahoo autopick draft really early in the season, i.e. June before TC even starts. I ended up with QB: Brady, Hasselbeck RB: MJD, Slaton, Moreno, Rice, McCoy WR: Roy Williams, Eddie Royal, Desean Jackson, Percy Harvin, Earl Bennett TE: Owen Daniels I decided to swing a trade I trade: Moreno, Roy Williams, Eddie Royal I get: Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall Now, even if I get nothing out of Marshall, I still feel comfortable enough that the Brady-Moss combo along with a solid RB corps should be enough to carry me.
If you did this trade, your WR slots will be stacked! QB: Tom Brady, B Favre RB: DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, Jonathan Stewart, Joe Addai, Donald Brown W/T: Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Greg Jennings, Chad Ochocinco, Chris Henry K: Ryan Longwell DEF: Ravens Basically you're trading out your low pick of TO for Jennings which is a second round pick, and you have 3 of the TOP 4 WR's on your starting slots (UNREAL!). Hell even the defense is also upgraded a bit.. If you are in a PPR league, I'd probably pull this trade. Unless you are really worried about Brady and Favre not performing well or getting hurt.. On a side note, you could stand to upgrade a #1 RB. Although I like the Donald Brown (I have him too) on reserves in case he has a Slaton-istic season. You could probably trade one of your WRs if they are performing well for one as the season goes.
