This is from an Insider article written by Chris Broussard. I don't have Insider so I haven't read it yet, but Mike & Mike were discussing the article earlier on the radio. Aside from the Asik & Lin deals, a S&T with Harden going to either NY or Miami is possible. Honestly, I'd rather have Harden/Howard/Lebron, but I keep reading these things that Lebron and Melo really want to play together. If that means we have move the best 2 guard in the league for us to get Lebron, I'm all for it. Besides, Melo/Lebron/Howard. Not too damn shabby.
No chance of it happening. Even if they tried to make this happen and it falls through (Kevin Martin and Pau Gasol trade), Harden would be pissed and it would ruin everything.
edit: I should have read the post better. I have a hard time seeing Houston trading Harden since it's rare to have someone that is only 24 and not even in the prime of his career and yet is recognized as the best at his position. Lebron is the best in the league though so who knows.
Trade asik and Lin (which Houston says they can), sign LeBron/Melo, Trade harden for LeBron/Melo (both new york and Miami would be open to harden)... Trade Parsons for a shooting guard. QUOTE=crash5179;9038584]How could we get them both? Unless they are both willing to player for about 9 million 1st year.[/QUOTE] Read the OP
I mentioned "melo for harden. LBJ and Melo for your Houston Rockets" a week ago. Last year I told you "don't disrespect our future center Dwight Howard". Broussard quoting me without credit
Yeah, it's not that hard to do mathematically - the question is, why would we do that? LeBron and Melo are basically both tweeners between the 3 and 4. Melo is a lot older than Harden. Why would we want Melo next to LeBron instead of Harden? I prefer this lineup: Beverly Harden Parsons James Howard over this lineup: Beverly SG from Parsons trade Lebron Melo Dwight
Lebron isn't a tweener. Lebron is a "play any position on the floor like a star." That said, I too would rather have Lebron playing with Harden.
SMH for the people against this. Same people will be jumping up and down when we get our first chip in 20 years
I would only do it if Lebron wanted Melo with him. Hardens young best 2 guard in the league, but if it means we get Lebron for 4 years, you gotta pull da triggah
I think the Rockets would rather keep Harden, but if Lebron says that getting Carmello would convince him to come, then you do it without thinking twice.
I wouldn't feel right about it but it would be stupid not to do it if the opportunity presented itself
Would it be possible to do a S&T with Parsons (signed for a starting salary of ~$11M) + TJones + Dmo to New York for a S&T Carmelo Anthony (starting at ~$17M)?
