Looks awesome, didn't realize Netflix instant was getting popular enough to lure in big names. I miss the days when dvd+streaming was 9.99
Honestly, what the hell happened to broadcast television that stuff like this isn't on every night? Incidentally, if this thing gets to be to "good" don't be surprised if Netflix can't keep hold of it. Unless they figure out to specifically monetize this with enhanced charges they might not be able to deal with any contract re-negotiations or the bidding D-Day that happens when Kevin Spacey proves he can carry a TV series. Robin Wright is just an empirically sexy woman.
Married With Children could have easily been an absurdist Norman Lear-type social platform with Emmy noms and eventually top-five ratings, but the rest of Fox's lineup was so unprofitable (Duet, Beans Baxter) they had to monopolize youth ad dollars, which meant Bud and Kelly centric story-lines that de-emphasized commentary and caricatured the adult relationships and personalities. Irrespective of all that it was on at a time when shows like L.A. Law, China Beach and Homefront were getting steady renewals for multiple seasons whereas none of those shows would last two weeks nowadays. More pointedly I would blame Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and possibly Survivor.
Late response but yeah they're reviving the series if you haven't found out already. Anyway all 13 episodes of House of Cards are hitting Netflix tomorrow. I'm going to have a busy weekend so I probably won't finish until next week if I like it enough. David Fincher + Spacey sounds like a winning combination though.
Wow. Had never seen the trailer until just now. It looks great. I hope the series does well and Netflix becomes another great source of shows like HBO, AMC, Starzz, etc.
Can I subscribe to Netflix for one month to watch this series and then suspend my account indefinitely?
yup, hell you can get a month free trial from their website, then you can cancel casting headsup Kate Mara and Constance Zimmer, both Entourage alums, are 2 underrated hotties.... looks great, will be streaming
The brilliant british version of House of Cards that this new series is based on is also on Netflix, and has been for a while. It's a great series as well.
Awesome, this looks good. I'm going to have to wait for torrents, because I'm in Aus and we can't use Netflix - jerks.
