AI came into the NBA a great scorer, brooks is good, but on more of a Nate Robinson level...... The main difference is that Allen Iverson can draw fouls whenever he wants.
I go to U of O and actually heard that a lot during his senior year from national press guys saying he plays like AI... not necessarily that he will be the next AI. I love that he is making a name for himself with you guys. His senior year he was so good I was disappointed when he missed 3s or did anything wrong because I always expected him to do everything right. I really hope he becomes a fulltime starter for the rockets. PS, go blazers! I have a press pass to the rockets/blazers game next week.
the thread starter inspired me to write a poem... landoo, if you plantoo start another thread, i'd appreciate if you candoo something else intsead
I think Brook should be the starter right now. I say it before and i'll say it again....the Rockets need someone that not just shoot from outside, but has the ability to attack the basket too. Rafer can't attack ..he's just a wait and shoot guy and he can't penetrate. WIth Aaron he makes it more dangerous cuz now you have someone that not only can shoot but attack too!!
Brooks is unbelievable, his development since last year is just amazing. He was completely destroying the Dallas Mavericks. The Rockets were spreading the court, and Brooks took advantage of this and just raced pass everyone else. I love how Brooks was able to run pass all of Mavericks defenders, and I love Brooks stutter steps. His insanely fast first step meshes perfectly with an anticipation drive. Brooks is going to be something, he has a lot of potential just waiting to be developed.
If there were two things I think Brooks could do to improve it would be to continue improving on his midrange jumper. The most important improvement he could make would be being able to keep his dribble like Nash or CP3. Keeping your dribble is absolutely key in destroying defenses and its what makes the elite so good.
I think he's faster than AI, in forward momentum, that is. But that's about it. He may play a style similar to AI, but he doesn't have AI's signature crossover-stop-jumpshot, nor the commanding presence. And AI's vertical leap is much more explosive than Brooks'.
