At times throughout the year, some posters start threads to pose a trade idea. If lots of people post trade ideas, it clutters up the forum, so we decided in 2006 to try to have one thread for "random trade ideas" that are not based on news involving the Rockets. They are simply, "What do you think about... " scenarios. Here are the rules of the "Random Trade Idea" thread. 1) Keep your trade ideas realistic. We all know why the Rockets would want a superstar ... but try to ask the question "Why does it make sense for the other team?" 2) Don't be a jerk. There are going to be unrealistic scenarios posted ... just point out to them why it couldn't happen, if you feel so inclined. Report the post as ludicrous if you must, but don't nuke the poster and call them names. It spirals the thread down. <HR> Previous threads for reference: Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2008-09 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2009-10 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2010-11 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2011-12 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2012-13 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2013-14 Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas -- 2014-15
Terrence Jones & Kostas Papanikolaou for Ty Lawson - fair trade IMO. Who says no? Terrence Jones & Kostas Papanikolaou for Ricky Rubio - fair trade IMO. Who says no? Terrence Jones & Kostas Papanikolaou for your good/star player - who says no? If needed, will throw in Joey Dorsey.
Might as well keep the 1st and use it in a trade where we get a player who will actually play rather than not
Almost every Rockets trade in the last five years has been one sided in Houstons favor. Don't extinguish the hope.
How would the Rockets assemble a trade package for Rubio? Who would the Wolves want? Do we need to call Hinkie to help us out?
I wonder if Darren Collison is available? Kostas has a contract that would match well. I think Collison is a very good player: high percentage three point, high steals rate, and can create offense in a pick and roll situation. He could be available given that Rondo is clearly the starter in Sacramento. It may take more than Kostas to get it done though.
Probably start by lobotomizing Morey so that he thinks acquiring a guy who can't make a layup making 12 mil a year is a solid idea.
I am afraid the opportunity to get Collison has passed and go. No a fa the Kings will want to sign anymore. They don't need capspace. I think we will get Lawson in the end. Houston OUT: Jones + Dekker + Kpap + 2016 first Houston In: Lawson Toronto OUT: Ross + Lac 2017 1st Toronto In: Jones Denver OUT: Lawson Denver In: Ross + Dekker + Kpap + Lac 2017 1st + Hou 2016 1st.
Our non-guaranteeds, Jones, one pick, and one more small asset. Minny has a problem. Rubio's trade value is in a downward spiral. And they know it's not likely to change unless Rubio starts banging down close to 40% on the 3-ball. And that's exactly why they haven't moved him yet. They are hoping his trade value matriculates upward as he shows improved shooting this next season. I doubt it happens and I think he is traded somewhere relatively cheap.
Need a PG before the start of the start....how about Ricky Rubio ? Yes he's been having some big injuries the last few seasons, but this can give us a chance to work out a trade with the twolves with his stock being low. Do you think if they want our 1st round pick for next year and a future 2nd pick we should do it?
