And then we'd get Matuella at #2, which I wouldn't complain about. I'd love to get Matuella or Bickford.
Now changed to Brendan Rodgers (SS) and Daz Cameron (OF). Also, has Aiken going #4 to the Rangers, that would be interesting to see/follow. Interesting, I think the 'stros will try and get a college arm (Matuella or Buehler) to go along with a position player. They can't be so sold on their minor league arms that they don't try and find a way to replace the spot that is vacant with Aiken not signing, right?
BPA. That's always the answer with the MLB draft. And every team in the league could use more high-ceiling pitching regardless of previous drafts.
After the regular season ended I looked at the standings and saw that we finished tied for 4th worst record in the league, and when I saw today that we were picking 5th I assumed that we lost the tiebreaker. But I forgot about the #2 pick we got via the Aiken fiasco. So that means we actually won it. Does anyone know how they break draft ties in mlb? Coin flip? (just curious) And will we alternate rounds picking first with the twinkies throughout the draft? thanks.
"If the winning percentages of two or more clubs are the same, the club with the lowest winning percentage from the previous season picks first. If two or more clubs are still tied, league standings from two years back (or three years back, four years back, etc) are used to break the tie."

Latest update has Rodgers and Nathan Kirby, a top college arm Interesting that they now have Aiken going #1 to Arizona
Crazy idea that's been in my head for a while: Astros pick Kyler Murray at 37 and they somehow convince him to not play football
Looks like its going to come down to Rodgers and Matuella, whoever DBacks don't take. I don't know much about Rodgers, but I'm not sure I'd want to take another HS SS and wait for him to develop.

It would be awesome if Aiken goes #1..... Means Astros virtually get the 2015 best pick. An even trade of top picks. I doubt Aiken goes first, unless he gives another discount to team selecting him.
What are Aiken's options for the 2015 Draft? By Jim Callis While it's still unclear where he'll pitch, one thing is certain: Wherever and whenever Aiken takes the mound, a large contingent of scouts will be on hand to watch. "We're trying to figure out where he's going to pitch, just like you are," an executive from a team with an early first-round selection said. "He definitely would be in our mix if he gets to us, and we'd like to get our eyes on him and his medical reports as soon as we can."
