But if he can heal to 85% will we want to play him then regardless of the risk? ☺

Rocket fans are spoiled with great pgs like Lowry, Dragic, and Brookz.... Knick fans were so desperate their pgs consist of Douglas, Fat Felton, and crippled Barom Davis and old ass Jason Kidd. However, the Knicks do have Carmelo Anthony vs Patterson??

Rockets' fan should...A rep like that, whether deserved or not, follows a player around and affects the way that they're officiated. Refs are less likely to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Look, the truth is Bev couldn't really stop Curry, Parker, Paul, lillard, etc.

No one can. Those guys are going to get their points. They are going to break some ankles. In fact, they do it to each other in games. No one expects Paul to stop Curry and no one expects Curry to stop Paul.

Like Harden. Pretty much no one can stop Harden.

    That is what superstars do.

Bev wasn't going to carry us through the playoffs by magically nullifying all of these star point guards. He had a couple decent games last year in the playoffs, but his real claim to fame was that he injured Westbrook.

Lin can fill in for Bev just fine.

The real problem is that no one can fill in for Lin. Canaan is an average rookie with no playing time. This is disastrous. Our bench is going to implode every time Canaan comes on the floor.

Morey needs to go find a veteran PG NOW

that is why I think Lin should continue to be a bench player but with around 30mins of game time. I think Hamilton should start for Beverly. Chandler, and Harden can bring up the ball and start the offense for those 18 mins Lin is not playing.

I think canaan is not ready....

I fear Bev will do everything to come back early and then get injured again and really damage his career.

Now. Finally someone had a rational analysis. I love PB. He will be missed. That's for sure. I don't think that there will be much drop off in staring unit, offensively and defensively. Lin is an under-rated defender. He and PB are simply different types of defenders. My concern is with bench and how players will adjust with lineup change near the end of the season. Hopefully Cannan and other bench players step up.

Btw, I always suspect so called LOFs are not the reason why certain you know what dislike Lin so much as they claimed. Some of the posts in this thread just showed their true color. In their minds, Lin is just not good even though historically Lin played defense on most PGs as well as (if not better) PB.

Real fans should have faith on Lin's games.

    Beat OKC

    Beat LAC (without Harden)

    Ding ding ding.

While definitely not true of everyone who criticizes Lin, the "glee" which which some people hopped into this thread to bash Lin makes the motives a bit more clear.

That said, it's not necessarily entirely their fault. Human nature is that we become captive of narratives. Once we formulate an initial opinion on something, most people find it very difficult to keep an open mind.

And once that opinion is voiced publicly, the opinion becomes emotionally invested. There is a perceived penalty for being "wrong". This tends to lead people to discount the value of information that offers opposing viewpoints while overvaluing information that supports their own viewpoints.

A perfect case in point is the OKC fans. Amazingly there are STILL substantial portions of the OKC fan base that defend trading Harden away. Why? Because they so adamantly defended the initial trade that they go to extraordinary contortions to continue defending the trade in spite of mounting evidence that Harden may be the best shooting guard of the current generation.

Cognitive dissonance. Oh how we have missed you...

It's sad that fans here won't noted this themselves. Self-reflect more and it won't be difficult to enjoy all the good things brought by Lin. He is one of the best role models for the youngsters. He is a team player, his work ethnics, willingness to take the roles assigned by the team, never complian his teammates publicly, clean life, humble......

All basketball players will leave the court one day, basketball won't be everything even in a basketball forum like this.

I personally do not think Lin will have better stats now that BEV is out.

Playing alongside harden, Lin will not be more effective off the bench.

Everyone here agrees he should be 6th and that is his best role as a rocket player.

So now playing with harden, Lin must take less shots. Hopefully he can conserve offensive energy and turn it to better defense as starter.

Lin's stat these final stretch probably be avg 11pts and 5.5 ast per game while playing more mins but taking less shot attempts.

If you guys expect Lin to avg 15pts and have 6 ast per game, it's not going to happen playing alongside harden.

It' sad that lof only can play the race card and the role model card but failed to prove what Lin can do on the court which it should be the only thing really matter.

This is going to do wonders for Bev's reputation among some here because if the Rockets don't win the championship, it'll all be Lin's fault and ONLY IF BEV HAD BEEN THERE, THE ROX WOULD'VE SWEPT THE HEAT/PACERS!

It would be cool to have a better option at the point. Too bad someone like this guy wasn't available to acquire this year-

Psst. Race baiting only works IF you take the bait. And that goes BOTH ways.

That it influences ANY of your assessment of a ROCKETS player says more about you than it does about extremists on either side of the argument.
