Yes 6 games is a small sample size, but I noticed Jlin is averaging numbers that very closely mirror a former Houston rockets pg.

Currently Lin is averaging the following:

    Pts: 12.3
    Rpg: 5.2
    Apg: 6.5
    FG: 37%
    3PT%: 30%
    STL:2.7
    TO:2.7
    FT:95%

There used to a be legendary PG who played for the rockets who averaged very similar numbers.

    Pts: 12.1
    RPG: 4.1
    APG: 6.7
    FG: 38%
    3P%: 33%
    STL:1.6
    TO: 2.5
    FT: 69%

Except for the FT percentage kind of eery how close the number are.

hmmm.... lets see. I know its not Calvin Murphy because his career PPG average was in the high teens if Im not mistaken. Could be his numbers in the his 2nd or 3rd year in the league though.

Im going to say Kenny Smith. Those numbers seem about right Kenny other than the 3 point% which I would have thought would be around 37%.

Kenny is my final answer, and this is off the top of my head.

Those are Lowry's stats over 4 games this season.

Still way too early for this thread. Come back later after a full season.

I do not follow Lowry and he appears is a very good pg since the rockets fans like him so much. I do think he averages more than 12 points per game this season. But what the op said is "legentdary pg" which I don't think Lowry is in that category yet, at least not now.

Jeremy Lin is the Asian Rafer. Rafer is a better ball handler. Lin is the better offensive player. They bother aren't good shooters. They were both overlooked coming out of college. Both had their fan groups: and1 guys, Asians. Rafer had his breakout season in Toronto and was traded; Lin had his breakout season in NY and then signed with the rockets. They both replaced popular(I am reaching with MJ) pgs: Mike James , Kyle Lowry. They both teamed up with superstar Sgs (Tmac, Harden?).

i don't think lin is playing too bad so far. much better than preseason. and he'll probably improve steadily as the season progresses. his main problems right now are finishing at the rim and sticking to his man on D, and both will likely fix themselves when his knee is 100%.

I'd guess Skip but Skip didn't turn the ball over that much and he was great at getting steals.

rafer was a much better defender. rafer's defense was the reason why luther head got traded even though luther head made alot of 3's

And Lin will be traded for another moneyball pick and his starting job will given to the backup (who we will draft this year).

you should post some of parker and westbrook's numbers this season. there have been some grotesque performances. It's way too early in the season. but the thinking is that lin is 24 yrs. old not 28 and will improve.
