He makes the solid point that I have been saying all over.... You HAVE to DEFEND THE BASKETBALL. Beverley is one of the best in the league at his position at doing that! This is going to be a great season and if we can thrive with Asik and Dwight down low that would be great....but if we can't, I trust Morey to make the best basketball decisions for this team!
Morey, Hey Jeff, would you be interested in coaching the Rockets? JVG: Of course I would! Morey: There is a catch. JVG: What's the catch? Morey: If Rockets don't live up the hype and win the championship this year, the job is all yours. JVG: What hype? No one hypes Rockets this season. Morey: Yes, there is..... JVG: &*#@*^:grin::grin::grin::grin:
if this don't get you excited I don't know what will ! "If you can defend the basket and the ball, you have a great, great chance"
If JVG or SVG was the coach I'd say Title for sure. Excited for the season. I'm thinking 50-60 wins would be great. But does MCH have the brainpower and know what adjustments to make in the playoffs in a 7 game series?
Who would have thought that Jeff Van Gundy would be so wound into the city of Houston when he took the Rockets job in 2003. The guy was a New Yorker, North Eastern guy to the core. Grew up in NY, went to college at Yale and then in NY.... coach of the Knicks..... Yet the guy is fired by the Rockets and still lives in Houston, is very involved in the community and is a huge fan of everything Houston related. Nicest guy you will meet... not arrogant, very open minded and bright guy.
