I think, having grown up in the Northeast JVG knows the benefits of living in a place like Houston.

    1. Great winter weather, your cars don't rust away and your garden stays roughly intact year to year. Plus he makes enough money to stay the F out of the city when it gets unbearably hot in summer.
    2. Low key atmosphere with still a lot of the big city benefits: things to do, places to eat at, and he gets to jog around the Rice loop to maintain his fitness to boot. The fact that we are so house-and-car heavy also means that a man of his profile doesn't have to get mobbed by the plebs on the subway system in NYC for example.
    3. Good schools which obviously he doesn't to remove his daughters from in the middle of their high school experiences. I have no idea if they go to Lamar Consolidated or a place like St. John's, but you can't go wrong either way.
    4. And the factor that overrides everything else...wealth building potential. No state income tax here. Cost of living that 2-3x less than that of NYC, San Fran, the highest end places in the country. We really treat our rich well. And when JVG's kids graduate, and when he decides to retire from his broadcasting/coaching career, he can take that pile he's accumulated and really live in luxury, wherever in the world he wants. What do you think his net worth is by now? I bet he's not just a 1%-er now but knocking on the door of the 0.1% class.

All in all, he can't go wrong by staying here.

I loved JVG didn't even act like the Lakers had any type of chance to win this game tonight. Loved it!

Plus he was dropping truth bombs saying Rudy T should be in the HoF...damn skip!
