I'm interested to see the official count. No real need to go on and on defending or tearing him down (plenty of threads already), just cast your vote. Evan
I voted bench him something needs to be done to light a fire under him the reality is He seems satisfied with his millions and the knowlede that he will always be the starter Rocket River
At the beginning of the season, I'd have voted to keep him. That first Tennessee game made me start doubting that position. The Oakland game cinched it. This team desperately needs a fighter and a leader and that simply ain't Carr. BTW, Rhome is ragging on both Mario & David as I write this. Man! I wish it was next Monday when we would be talking about how the Patriots had just executed the Texans on this past Sunday instead of listening to all of the wise cracks by the national media.
I thnk DC is an average NFL QB in search of an OL. Kubiak could bench DC in favor of someone else who would then follow the same game plan as DC has been made to. Benching DC would guaranatee the highest possible draft pick, so there is that. I would actually rather see Kubiak open up the offense and let DC throw down field. DC will get sacked more and throw more INTs, but the OL would a chance to grow into where they need to be. Of course, the current starting 5 OL may not be the starting 5 coming out of camp next year, so the actual benefit of said plan is questionable.
I am neither a sunshine pumper or a Capt Hairdo fan. But until we have a better option I think we should play him. I don't think we could get much more than a donut trading him now. Maybe a couple good games would enhance his marketablity.
If it means bringing in a troy smith, kolb etc. Than nay If we're getting a plummer or a journeyman. than yay
Say nay to Plummer. Sure he runs the say offense as us but he is surrounded by much more talent than Carr has and he sux even more. He is on the downside of his career at age 30something. At least Carr is young and he can't get any worst (hopefully).
Until we have better options, I say keep him. Maybe we get Smith in the 2nd or Kolb in the 3rd and groom them behind Carr till they are ready. I do not want Plummer or Bledsoe or any other journey man QB.
The only QB's who could succeed behind this line are the ones who've had success elsewhere, and already developed the neccesary QB instincts to succeed in this league. Carr, as a rookie who never got protection, never developed that... and thus you're left with what you have now. Putting another rookie back there (who doesn't have the mobility of a Vince Young) would yield similiar "shell-shocked" results.
I agreee I am not enamored with Plummer I'm willing to bet . .the ideal will be bring in Plummer and let him Teach Carr Plummer starts. . . Carr to the Bench and they will not Draft a QB at all Rocket River Sage will be the 3rd stringer
I voted to Bench him. But really what I want is another option. Draft or sign another quarterback, and go into training camp with Carr, Rosenfels, and new guy on equal footing. If Carr can still come out on top, pray for a break out year. But even so, keep a short leash.
