If the Lakers sign someone next year they won't have enough for AD

And they would have interest in draft picks in trade deals.

Lol and LeBron? Just gets another pass as usual? LeBron apparently was already heavily recruiting KD to join him in LA this past summer, after losing and giving up the FMVP to KD 2 years in a row. But, only KD a b**** right?

I've already been calling this. KD a b****, sure. He only did what LeBron started, but better. You can never convince me if LeBron was a free agent at that moment in time where GS original big 3 were under those contracts and the cap sky rocketed at the exact time LeBron was a FA, LeBron would have joined GS all the same as KD did.
Fitting that the 2 biggest mercenaries in NBA history will team up instead of continuing to go head to head at their position.

Honestly thought AD had more fight in him to be someone like KG and try his best to lead his team until exiting his prime. But, just like LeBron and KD, at 25 years old, AD just has to win NOW and form a super team NOW because no players have patience anymore, they all want Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Russell success right away as easily as possible

I think nobody gave a pass to Lebron for what he did when he left Cleveland the first time, but at least personally, i don't consider that situation the same as what Durant did when he joined the Warriors. Not saying Lebron didn't take a shortcut, but at least he decided to be part of a team almost built from the ground. Durant joining the defending champions coming off an all time W record, and after talking **** about Lebron for going to Miami, was just the weakest move ever by a star.

This is what's wrong with the nba. The less glamourous teams are nothing more than farm teams for the nba chosen teams.

People might think this is a fair deal for the Pelicans. It isn't. The pelicans are gifted a bunch of players that they will develop until its time for those players to move to a championship team.

Trading Anthony Davis does nothing but helps lake.

When minny traded kevin love to the cavs and minny got all of these players: wiggings, KAT, etc. Great move for minny right? Wrong. Those players are doing nothing but developing for when they can test free agency and go to another blessed team.

Trading your star players is always the wrong move.
The lakers do this move knowing full well that when Ingram is ready to compete for a championship, they will be able to get him back, all thanks to that wonderful and timely (after 7 years) free agency.

If/when this comes to fruition, you can’t help but feel bad for New Orleans.

This is franchise altering. They’re never going to see a player as good as AD again.

Why would you want a coward like Durant?

When was the last time an MVP level player got traded? Neither LeBron or Durant got traded. Leaving or not the MO with players that good was to beg and plead with them to come back up to the very last second. Heck even when they commit to another team you move and earth to make them come back. You fire the coach, GM, trainers, anyone you need to appease him. Screw getting anything back, if a player that good leaves you're crap anyway so might as well blame him for everything and start at the bottom. That's why I think the Pels won't trade AD. Also, players that good never straight up say they're leaving. They always pretend they might resign just to build up more drama. No one they can get in a trade will even approximate AD's value and so the Pels will cling on to whatever tiny sliver of hope they have till the very end.

The Pelicans haven't been able put a contending team around him in years. Who wouldn't want to leave? Orlando traded their star to the Lakers, Suns traded their star to the Lakers, Memphis traded their star to the Lakers, I think those teams came out fine in those moves.

Did anyone ask the fans in NOLA what they thought of this "possibility?" Wouldn't they raise hell and think twice before renewing/buying season tickets? Management has to be thinking at least a little about the reaction of their fans if they do a deal like this a year before it's really needed, assuming AD wouldn't re-up, which is not a crazy assumption. I've always thought it's a truism that the team that gets the superstar wins over the team that gets picks and parts for said superstar. Sometimes, it's not even about the players, but rather about the dollars. Look at the past history of the Rockets. Some of it isn't pretty.

Seems like another "idea" floated around in an effort to prop up the Lakers.

The grizzlies got lucky in the same way that the spurs got lucky with Tim Duncan.
