No because he is playing most minutes against starters and garbage time is taken out. Also its per 100 possessions that he's on the floor, not per game

Also depends on who takes his minutes...if it's Bobby Brown, well...

its could be 50-60 points allowed less after this game if we continue at this pace

Anyone with a modicum of objectivity saw how much Harden hurt the Rockets on defense. He was literally disgusting for most of December. Refusing to contest, getting backdoored, literally walking back on defense from all his turnovers and even missed shots. Matador ball swipe from behind that works 1% of the time.

When he gets healthy I expect his energy to be much better. I don't have much hope for D'antoni not letting history repeat itself though.

Harden Only Fans heads gonna explode, but on balance, there are at least 20~30 games in a season where Harden is flat out negative on the court.

we basically allowed 9 points less than the avg of 107 ppg we allow
and limited orl 7 points less than their avg of 105 ppg

good start everyone did a good job defensively

Harden was pretty close to being neutral on defense this year. Not sure why people are still having these kinds of threads.

missed by 4. we allowed one of the worst teams 9 pts below our avg allowed. they missed their own avg scored by 7
    law of averages

harden also led this team and limited playoffs contender pacers to 12 points below our avg allowed earlier in the season
pacers missed their own avg scored by 12 as well

but yeah finally this effort from everyone is a good sign. and adding green and mda actually using webber are very good signs.

If we hold GSW under 100 tomorrow, I will start contributing to the Trade Harden thread.

The defense will certainly will improve, by a few points per game probably, but the expectation is the offense will get worse by more.

So for example we will allow 3-5 fewer points defensively but score 8-10 fewer points on offense.

That would be probably be a standard rough estimate.

I don't think our defense improves substantially without Harden. Green is going to get the bulk of those minutes. And he's a lame brain defensively. He has more defensive talent than Harden but not the brains to use it to affect the defense positively.

And neither man is the main cog defensively. Our defensive cogs are Paul, Tucker, Ariza, and LMM. With those guys on court and CC and Anderson improved rebounding our D is good. But you take away LMM and Paul and CC, there's not much left for the second unit to stop anybody. With Paul now running the first unit and LMM hurt, and Nene only able to play limited minutes our bench unit is going to be exposed defensively.

The Warriors second unit will most likely clean our clock tonight. We simply won't have enough defensively to slow them down.

improved defence isn't just shown by how much another team scores on us because teams play at different paces.

The Warriors might have a bad shooting night and that is a false look.
