Sports. The Pacers and Suns were finalizing the players and possible picks involved in the deal on Friday night, and front-office sources expected an agreement to be finalized overnight. Indiana has been pursuing Scola for several weeks, and had become available to teams because of the Suns' movement toward a rebuild under new general manager Ryan McDonough. Scola, 33, could be a huge asset to the Pacers as they try to unseat the two-time defending champion Miami Heat and compete with the elite of the Eastern Conference. Scola is a gifted offensive player, with strong character and leadership. He could go a long way toward strengthening the Pacers' bench behind David West at power forward. Scola averaged 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 82 games for the Suns a season ago. Scola has two years and $9 million left on his contract.

edit: JR beat me to it PHO wanting granger? doesn't seem like a meaningful improvement. Still won't be able to compete in the West from stein:

Reports from Argentina that Scola is headed to Pacers have been circulating for last hour, but latest word is Danny Granger is NOT in deal
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 27, 2013

Yes!!! I love Luis and would be happy to see him contributing to a contender instead of rotting away in NBA hell.
