From Hansbrough to Scola. Wow! Scola deserves to win, let's hope he can help Indy get s title. No reason to not cheer for the Pacers now.
To be honest, Scola didn't look good last year. He showed his age. But it will be easier for him to find a useful role on a good team. Good backup/insurance for David West, who is also pretty old and shouldn't be playing too many minutes if you want him healthy for the playoffs.
Guess I'm going to start watching pacer games. Really happy for Scola that he gets to play for a playoff team.
I love this move for the Pacers but they are still too weak in the backcourt with George Hill and Lance Stephenson. Maybe Bird has other trades in mind.
Suns close to dealing Luis Scola to Pacers The Indiana Pacers are nearing completion of a deal to acquire Phoenix Suns forward Luis Scola, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Pacers and Suns were finalizing the players and possible picks involved in the deal on Friday night, and front-office sources expected an agreement to be finalized overnight. Indiana has been pursuing Scola for several weeks, and had become available to teams because of the Suns' movement toward a rebuild under new general manager Ryan McDonough. Scola, 33, could be a huge asset to the Pacers as they try to unseat the two-time defending champion Miami Heat and compete with the elite of the Eastern Conference. Scola is a gifted offensive player, with strong character and leadership. He could go a long way toward strengthening the Pacers' bench behind David West at power forward. Scola averaged 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 82 games for the Suns a season ago. Scola has two years and $9 million left on his contract.
