The "Houston Sports" forum went away today and three new forums came about: Houston Texans Houston Astros Other Sports This had been considered for a long time and was delayed because it was difficult to determine how to best organize it all. Things may still change or be combined, but one thing that is likely to remain is that the Houston Texans will have a dedicated forum on ClutchFans. After reading through the Texans-Saints game thread, it looked like the change needed to happen sooner rather than later. There is a ton of interest in talking about the Texans, but the game thread was being treated like a forum itself, and as a result, a lot of news is being missed by other fans. For example, in that thread, here are some posts that could or should be new threads by themselves (in the case of Gholston, it was eventually created as a thread). Many fans click the forum to see the latest news or discussions on that topic (in this case, the Texans) and wouldn't know that's all happening in a broad discussion thread (I didn't). Now, this forum is solely for Houston Texans fans, so if you find some interesting news or want to discuss a player, opponent, position, video, coaching move, etc., please feel free to create a thread for it if you feel it doesn't already exist. Cool! Honestly, I think the level of discussion here regarding the Texans is far superior to that on other Texans boards such as texanstalk. Having a dedicated Texans subforum is the best of both worlds - more discussion, and that Clutchfans high level of discourse.
Great direction! Especially now with the NBA/Rockets in suspended animation. My interest in the Rockets has waned big-time thru the years, (sad considering I met my wife because of the Rockets) and now it is all about football - (or soccer with the girls ) Thanks Clutch!

Thanks, clutch! I enjoy reading Texans posts on here probably as much or more than any other subject. I think there is great football discussion here.
When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to tell us to take the Texans talk over to texanstalk or to some other board.
With the uncertainty surrounding the NBA lockout and the dark skies that look to be in the Astros' near (and far, sigh) future, the Texans are all we have left. I wasn't a big football fan before but I just have nothing else to hang my hat on. Consequently I have become 50% as obsessed with the Texans as I was with the Rockets at my peak, which means I am obsessed. I can't wait for this lockout to end to restore balance to my life!
thanks clutch, good call. my favorite part? we now finally know where UH football threads should go so I don't have to read Donny's 1000 posts a day about UH being part of the Big 12 in the same thread.
