If they beat the saints on Sunday u might as well go ahead and print those playoff tickets because this team is for real. After we play Baltimore the schedule sucks the rest of the way. 12-4

If we're 7-3 at the bye, start printing.

If we're 5-1 after the Ravens, start printing.

If we're 4-0 after the Steelers, start printing.

Knocking off the Saints would be huge....but it's a long season.

I was wondering what was behind the scenes with him to gauge if he was salvageable. What I saw was:

Fans call him "The Ghost" in reference to his non-production

    He's a workout freak.

He's got a major rep for not caring about the game. Telling:
    http://withleather.uproxx.com/2011/03/jets-vernon-gholston-really-sucks
You think there'd be plenty of motivation....

He's got a rep for being allergic to physical play and poor football IQ (why they gave up on him as a LB).

He has a habit of hesitating and and is really poor at shedding blocks.

He's got the physical tools, including a good burst. Everyone that's worked with him claims he has the stuff to be a terror, but he's got to want it.

Maybe he's worth a flier to see if he can pan out as a backup to Smith and Watt (very short on depth there) - just go churn up the pocket. But it sounds like there's almost no drive there, no chip on the shoulder or professional pride.

I dont think the Texans are the right team to try and salvage your career... especially if you play on the defensive side.... BUT once he leaves and goes elsewhere , then he'll be the next Jason Babin , or Amobe Okoye, or Tyrone Williams....etc

Wade Phillips is here now so maybe this is the right place for a athletically gifted 3-4 OLB that needs coaching and work.

Ahhhhhh it felt nice to say that

But in reality, Ghost just has NO DRIVE AT ALL. He needs to work at a Burger King or something then maybe he would try a little bit.

To me, the game is very simple. Offenses will go to work and there's no way either defense truly stops the other team. So really it's just a matter of execution. Who execute better and limit mistakes.

Personally, I think it's 50/50 but give Saints a slight edge for being at home.

Joseph is back out there practicing, He's fine.

    Arian didn't practice.

Jacoby didn't practice. (banged knee, swelled up...they drained it. It'll be a week before he's out there).

i wonder if Jacoby hurt his during the AJ TD celebration

If Walter can't go then WR is going to be hurting> Bryant Johnson is ok but not really a big play of threat type of guy, just a possession type. DA is fun to cheer for and all but hardly scary to a defense.

I dont think he needs Burger King money bro...Remember he was the No.6 draft pick, he has probably made more than what today's No.1 pick is making....... You cant really gauge how someone is trying, I just think he isnt good...Personally if I were him , I wouldnt give a flying ****!!!...

    should be 12 and 4 .. . but you cannot discount. . . . THE KUBIAK FACTOR

    holding firm with 10-6
Maybe the WADE FACTOR can cancel out the KUBIAK FACTOR

The Texans have repeatedly stated they conceded the run to take away the pass Sunday by playing only 6 in the box.

If the Saints want to run all day and take the ball out of Bress' hand, more power to 'em; I'll take that and I'm guessing Wade will, too. They're not going to score 30 on you running the football.

What, exactly, is.... THE KUBIAK FACTOR? I was actually in Miami and catching up - are people still griping about Kubiak?

I don't know man, I'm worried about Sproles and Ingram.

Oh, Sproles is concerning, absolutely - but he's burning *everyone*. That's a tough guy to defend, more so when a coach like Payton gets a hold of him.

Ingram will likely run for big chunks but, again - super! Drew Brees is their far and away best player so a day full of Ingram runs means less of Brees.

I'm really only concerned about Sproles when it comes to dump offs and screens....otherwise, let them run with Sproles, Thomas, Ingram...
