With all the excited speculations going on in the forums these days I can very much see Clutch getting us hook line and sinker this next April 1rst. Haha
Its not an insult if a person plays better defense or not no matter what year they are. It doesnt matter if you been in the league for 1 year 5 years or 10 years if you can't play defense you just can't. There are alot of guys in the league who don't play defense and i dont see how its an insult to Kevin Love when he has shown he cant play defense at all. As of right now Morris is doing a good job and he has the potential to be good on defense. Love doesn't have upside on the defensive end but that's just me
Also let's be real here, the Rockets don't have the NBA's best offense. We may score the most points, but if we really had the best offense we'd also have the best record. The one who wins has the highest score, right? There's no such thing as you have enough "XXX", because basketball is a total sum game and you can use your advantage in offense/defense to win the game. The Suns had the worst defense ever with Amare, Nash and Frye soaking up major mins, but because their offense was so good they won a ton of games. In our case, having Love with Asik, Parsons and Lin would ensure we get 90% of the rebs every night, never mind that he can stretch the offense and make plays for TD/CD/Asik.

I don't understand how after 27 games (only 8 in which Morris has started) you get that he's a better defender than Love. I do agree with you Kevin Love is far from being a defensive stallworth, but to say someone like Marcus Morris who is even further from being known for his defensive stopperness against opposing big men. What stats have you been looking at? And if you add the games we've played against the Celtics, Grizzlies, and Bulls just recently, Omer Asik's defense has been what has really made the difference against guys like KG, Z-Bo, and Noah. In fact I'm pretty sure PPatt was still playing against the C's before he went out with his injury. Basically I'm trying to understand what you are looking at and basing Marcus being the better defender out of him and Love, from this small sample size. Good points. Love would be great, but not at the price of Asik or perhaps even Smith, as I am very high on these two.
Love's numbers have been inflated and inefficient under Adelman. It's not a knock on Adelman, just that Love has been fully given the star player role. It's yet to be seen if he's capable of winning and can regain efficiency as a scorer in this role.
Unless the Rockets neglect to pick up the Team Option on Parsons and sign him to an extension! Not sure if that would work, but maybe!
He would be perfect at PF with our current starting lineup. Unfortunately, that won't be the lineup he would be playing with if traded here somehow. I like the chemistry this team is building, and as a bonus, they are great guys to root for. I would try to keep the starting lineup as much as possible. This likely means getting your PF upgrade in free agency. I love Delfino and Smith off the bench. And Douglas is understanding his role more and more. Smith is one of my favorite Rockets. He just reminds me so much of OT. Of course, this is a Morey team, so ill just continue to try and not get attached to the players. But I hope the starters minus the PF are kept in tact.
Not trying to be rude, but please click the link and educate yourself. It helped me out a lot. http://rockets.clutchfans.net/3455/c...ract-analysis/
A healthy Love in our offense would make us a real contender. If DM could pull it off with any combination of the below players I would be ecstatic. Hell we got Harden for Martin and Lamb! Maybe we could get Barea thrown in as our new back-up PG. Patterson Morris Smith DMo TJones White I like TJ and DMo, but Love gives us another "Go To" player and is the perfect 4 for our offense. While he's not a great defensive player, we have other folks who can help compensate for his weaknesses. I also believe Love is carrying a little more weight this year and if he dropped back to his previous years he'll be a better overall player. I'd LOVE the line-up bellow and our bench would be solid also. Starters Asik Love Parsons Harden Lin Bench Delfino PF not traded C not traded Toney Barea
