21 catches, 220 yards and a td in 2 PLAYOFF games.

2 100 yard games in 2 playoff games with tom brady throwing him the ball, 1 100 yard game in 4 years with d. carr throwing him the ball

i wonder how many other people's career carr has almost ended/ended.

Yes Brady is better than Carr but in all fairness

AJ>any patriot WR meaning Gaffney was never a number one option.

    Pariots line 2006>Texans line 2002-2005

    Patriot coaching 2006>Texan coaching 2002-2005

    etc. etc. etc.

Also why did he not make it with Philly?

Gaffney is just an average NFL WR that has had two nice games back to back

Wow.. someone trying to blame Carr for Gaffney sucking as a Texan?

Carr hit the SOB in the numbers with the ball and he barely knew what happened.. and if he ever managed to catch it he fumbled it out of the endzone for a touchback.

What do you think Brady would do behind the Texans offensive line for the last 5 years?

A: He may have won 5-6 more games max than we won in those five years.

You should consider how many offensive lineman that we have had over those 5 years that no longer play in the NFL.

A top notch quarterback can do wonders for your career. Gaffney always had good hands but never was a gamebreaker. He finally has a real qb throwing him the ball and looks like he may be a perfect fit in N.E. Im happy for him.

Did you ever actually watch him with the Texans?

Its just a ****in fluke. He wasnt this good for NE even in teh reg season. HE is just breakin out so he can pick up a nice contract this offseason.

In Houston he was terrible. We needed him to produce while the defense focused on Andre, but he never got open or anything.

BTW, very dissapointing job by the chargers. Had many chances to pull away but never got it done. Now we have to see Indy vs NE again. YOu kno how thats going to turn out.

I've been watching Gaffney since he was a redshirt freshman at Florida. The guy has good hands. Im not saying he's Marvin Harrison but his hands are good. He made 2 great catches in today's game.

This makes me think Gaffney's problems up until now are his focus and concentration. Stinking it up with the Texans and getting cut by the Eagles probably woke him up to the fact he might be out of the league next year if he didn't get his act together. He's not a dumb guy.

If he gets a good contract in the offseason, those problems may return.

Brady with the Texans may have even been worse than Carr.

OTOH, Carr with the Patriots would have made the playoffs at best....now ay even close to sniffing a Super Bowl.

As for Gaffney, I don't think he is a bad receiver, or a great receiver....he's a receiver. On a a good team, with a balanced attack, lots of options, and a HOF quarterback in the right situation, Gaffney can have great stats on any given week. My guess...Gaffney is as good as the team around him. The better they are, the better he is...the worse they are, the worse he is.

    Gaffney sucks.

If he didn't make it with the Patriots, his career as an NFL player is over.

I only watched him in Houston; and during his time in Houston, I saw no such "good hands." As the other poster pointed out, it's awfully hard to blame DC when the ball hit the guy square in the numbers and he dropped like a damn hot brick.

Very true. And besides, Gaffney has sucked all year in New England. This playoff performance is amazing, but God only knows where it came from.

dude the guy didn't have a job in the nfl at one point this season. carr may or may not suck but he's not at all to blame for the texans releasing gafney who is more likely just having two career games than breaking out. see stromile swift.

i won't blame carr for ruining gaffney's career. can't do that.

but i don't wanna hear that gaffney helped ruin carr's. clearly there was more to gaffney than he ever got to show here, for a myriad of reasons. i believe one of them was carr's inability to do anything other than stare down a receiver to just one check-down to a TE or RB for a dump off pass. the same disappearing act we caught from moulds this season.
