He's right. Dwight Howard's post game is pathetic for a player of his size. Lacks the basic fundamentals.

Its a shame that Dwight worked with Hakeem on posts moves and doesn't use them lol

Props to Barkley about talking about how LeBron went to Hakeem and how he got better because of that.

Charles is RIGHT. You can get Dream, McHale, Kareem, Charles, and he still can't post up

He can go get all the training he want, still won't improve much, if at all.

I accidentally voted WRONG, but Charles is right. Dwight can't post up. He doesn't have the footwork necessary to have a post game. The only thing he can do with his back to the basket is use is off-arm to shield the defender from his hook-shot. However, he doesn't NEED to have one. He is the best pick-and-roll player in the NBA.

You could probably remove one of his hands and he'd still be a max contract center in this league. It is what it is.

Dwight...is starting to get the title of uncoachable...he needs to realize that he has so much to do to improve his game and just do it...stop playing games(like shaq said), and work on a go to move that you know is a bucket..."Signature move" James Harden has a Euro step, Paul Pierce Elbow stepback, Tim Duncan Bank Shot, Kareem Sky Hook, Hakeem Dream Shake, Dirk Fade away Jumper...

Dwight(and the same goes for Blake Griffin) are just going to eventually lose their athleticism and not know how to stay relevant in the NBA... Till Dwight learns that he sucks as a BBall player and stops making excuses, he is going to be a mediocre player...And its a damn shame...

Shaq is right, Chuck is right...these guys dominated their position...A guy like Howard is not even comparable(maybe Lebron in terms of build and atheleticism)...and for him not to be able to just go out and dominate is pathetic...its scary to hear that its been 10 years in the league for Dwight, and it seems that the greats in this game have seen someone waste God given abilities...

With all that said, Dwight as soon as the season ends, needs to sign with a team...And just devote his entire offseason to train with Kobe, or someone else that will just make him a better basketball player...If he comes to Houston, that's great, but he still has the same issues that he must address...

Does anyone really care though? When healthy he can get you 20/15 a night, who cares if he can post up. That's simply not his game.

It doesn't matter.... he's a lazy self, centered, egotistical diva with a limited game that will never come anywhere near his true potential... yet people will line up to give him a max contract and take whatever crap he wants to dish out.... it's called DESPERATION and I really hope DM doesn't buy it...

You see superstars that add something to their game every year. Dwight isn't one of those.

NOBODY would be complaining about dwight... he was an unstoppable force downlow... he is coming off back surgery.. he didnt even get this past summer to work on his game. he came back too early from the surgery and it showed.. just wait till next year. i am confident he will be SUPERMAN again

He gets his 20 points because when he gets into position in the post, you can't stop him. But if a good defense keeps him out of position, or it's a late game situation.. he disappears on offense unfortunately because he cannot just post up wherever he wants to

I'm not sure I agree with the Shaqtus. Dwight has been a power player, but mainly because he doesn't seem to WANT to develop skill moves. He has the athletic ability and quickness to be the ultimate combination of power and skill. That he's "only" been a power player is because being a power player is what comes easy to him. He's big and strong, so he has built-in advantages. He would have to put in much more work to develop skill moves. For that matter, Shaq also could have been even better if he would have put in more work.

But back to Dwight. He went to work with Hakeem, but it was like a lot of the stuff Dwight does- just lip service. He wanted to be able to point to it and talk about how he worked with Hakeem and create an impression: This is a guy who will do what it takes to win. Just like his recent tweets to LA fans and transparent attempts to control the message surrounding him in LA- the stories about him doing Kobe impressions and mugging for the camera, and going to Jerry Buss's funeral and reflecting on being a better man, a more mature man and player, come to mind. What do you think Jerry Buss would have thought about his idiotic tantrum that got him thrown out of a playoff game?

It's all BS, and when you compare the things he says to the things he does and the results he gets, it leads to one conclusion: he's more about talk than about actually doing the hard stuff it takes to go from being "only" a super talented athletic freak to one of the all time greats. As it stands now, he's the best center in a historically weak era for centers. He would have gotten destroyed on a regular basis if he had played against Hakeem, prime era Shaq, Robinson, Ewing, etc. Hell, Yao always made him look like a fool and Yao never reached his potential either.

I think he'll re-sign in LA this summer after a long drama, and will talk a lot about commitment and unfinished business and proving the haters wrong. But in the end, he won't work to improve any more than he has in the past and will be riding out of town on a wave of bad feelings within 2 seasons. After at least one more coach of his gets fired, of course.

Dwight is like Melo. Freak athlete with game that came so easy he doesn't know how to put in work to improve. Dwight's spent his whole career being able to score in the post with crappy fundamentals while centers like Bynum had to learn the fundamentals before they could score.

Also shows how pathetic today's center are, when a guy with lousy fundamentals and limited game is the best 5 in the NBA.

Dwight doesn't have the footwork in the paint. It's hard to pick up footwork so late in his athletic career. Hakeem stepped onto the basketball court with fluid footwork because of his soccer background. Hakeem put in the work and his natural ability kicked in. Dwight can put in work but its too late for him to develop a dominate post game. His lack of a post game is pathetic for a guy as gifted athletically as he is.

These are the moments that Morey looks to exploit. Underutilized or undervalued assets.

That said, I hate watching him play--boring basketball for someone who appreciates skilled post play.

all he needs is a go to move and a counter, keep it simple, let McHale and CD work with him
