You don't need a CHL to have a gun in your truck but you knew that.

They changed the article. Watch the video, the witness said hoodies and bananas.

He has a CHL. What is your point? Of course I know about gun laws in Texas.

Link? From the article it just sounds like he grabbed a gun out of his vehicle (which is legal), but he wouldn't have been in danger if he hadn't went and got the gun in the the first place.

He's going to need a lawyer.

"He spotted two men wearing bandanas and masks loading up x-boxes into a red car. The veteran dropped his sandwich and made his way to his car to get his gun."

    Ssoooooo . . .you can insinuate yourself into a situation . . . .
decide you fear for your life after the fact
    then just blast folx . . ..

Calling the cops is no longer an option?
This is the Wild Wild West of justice . . . . . we working with here?

QUESTION: What if he was wrong?
What would his punishment or crime have been?
    If there were not 'criminals'

    Rocket River
We allow citizens to simply come run out guns blazing then decide . . . later if it was just or not.

no sir . . i do not like it.

If my family was in that restaurant or that gamestop, I certainly wouldn't want a civilian action to result in a shootout over stolen games.

I already gave the link. Watch the video.

Pure speculation on your part about everyone being safe considering two robbers with loaded guns were committing a felony.

No, justice will be when the guy who was arrested is charged with manslaughter. Also these were guys who went to ROB a store when they knew people would be there so they took loaded weapons.

Everyone wasn't safe, right in the title I said someone was killed. Another guy had a gun pointed at him. Before that Gamestop employees were robbed at gunpoint.

Your link is weak -- that's why I requested a decent source.

The shooter is going to need a really good lawyer.

What is weak about KHOU.com? Considering the sheriff said he feared for his life, I think he has little to worry about.

Wait this was an aggrevated robbery? No guns were used to complete the heist...they had guns, but as you know it is their 2nd amendment right. We just have another crazed gun owner escalating the incident because he was emboldened by his metal tool.

Hmm, possibly you should step up your legal knowledge.

You are not allowed to have a handgun if you are:

    (A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic or boating;
    (B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or
    (C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section 71.01.
