This sucks, everyone was talking about this leading up to last years draft. Did he fail the test at the end of the season, or in the offseason, I wouldn't want the NFL to take his DROY award away.
They didn't take Merriman's pro-bowl selection away so I'd imagine they won't worry about his ROY award.
Who cares if he keeps the award or not? That's insignificant. He's an outed roider and will likely prove to be an ordinary player if he can't continue using. Huge, huge blow to the franchise both on and off the field.
I agree with the general sentiment that this will knock Cushing down a notch. Plus this is a large blow to the Texans D. A blow that holds negative playoff implications....
Don't look at Shawne Merriman and expect Cushing to have that kind of a decline, keep in mind that Merriman had some serious injuries that kept him out of games for 2 years. My guess is he'll come back and still play hard. You can't take drugs and be a smarter football player, just a bit more of an energetic one.
Maybe, maybe not. Shawne Merriman performed well in the season and a half after his steroid suspension, though he's had injury problems the past two seasons and his production has dropped off.
I really did not see this one coming. I never gave it much thought. This truly sucks for the Texans. Rocket River
F***!!! This is not a good way to start the season. Leading up to the draft last year, it was pretty much cemented in my head that he juiced but I thought he would stop when he got to the NFL. Hopefully he wasn't juicing during the season last year, and his play was legit and the failed drug test came this offseason where he took stuff to rehab and recover quicker from those injuries
lol JVG just called Cushing out and gave Matt Schaub some love, oh and apparently hes a ticket season holder
