No. Top 2 guards are voted in as starters. The other 2 by the coaches. Lin would have to pass up Kobe or Paul to get in as a starter. He will not get voted in as a reserve by the coaches.
I'm a big fan of Lin. But he doesn't have All-Star numbers--doesn't deserve it. Getting the nod by fans will only increase the scrutiny on him and make other players take it to him every night. Not that it makes much of a difference, but I'm gonna vote for Paul and Harden for Lin's sake.
Wow... the only problem I have with this is the fact that Lin is over Harden in the voting. That is all... Honestly, I can care less if Westbrook gets in... (although he deserves it) but Lin having more votes than Harden just shows why I hate Lofs... Also, Lin has a chance to surpass Paul in the voting... And its not knee jerk... but he will pass paul if he drops 3 more 20 pts games... although he hasn't been consistent with his play fully like Paul, Curry, Westbrook...
Disgusting, probably won't matter much in the long run but I can't believe he has more votes than Harden.
I would like to see where the votes come from... I'd be ready to bet that Lin has 5x times more votes from the USA + rest of the world (minus China) than from China itself.

The West team is so much better. Wade and Rondo vs CP3 and Kobe. The East doesn't even have a center.
Also you people that find it "disgusting" are really stupid... what's so strange that Lin has more fans than Harden? (and that is what the All Star game is atm) I honestly even find it strange CP3 has more fans than Lin. Actually I am 100% sure that if Lin somehow averages 15/7 in the next 2 weeks he will overcome CP3. (as there are many Lin fans not voting him as his performance is not good) NOTE: I am talking about who has more fans and not about who's the better player.
This. Lin's fanbase really isn't that big over in China/Taiwan. Kobe's still more popular than him there.
They want people to go to NBA.com as often possible. More page hits = more fan participation = more revenue. The NBA AllStar game is all about promotion and money. Never intended as a meritocracy to honor the best players (I think that's what the end of season awards are for).
Are u guys forgetting all stars is a popularity contest? It doesn't even matter anyways, lin is not gonna surpass Paul so ppl stop freaking out and talking **** about china, I bet the majority of lins votes aren't even from the us, u guys are overestimating the amount of votes coming from there
If it were Lin/Bryant starting. You'd have CP3 as a lock. Westbrook/Parker have potential to make it over Harden, even if that shouldn't be the case.
