Re: Gilas... you can't just assume there is always next time. China had a horrific qualifiers, which opened the door for Pilipinas to get into this World Cup. And we're always seeing threads about the "Next Yao Ming" at 16 years old. Some of these guys will be ready for next world cup.

I hope Gilas can get through next time. They have skills, they just need height lol. They will have to knock out the likes of Korea I think. I don't know if Japan is any good. I know they had one guy who signed with the Suns many years ago but never played in the NBA.

Yanick Moriera from Angola...6'11" runs the floor, athletic, nice post moves, nice fade away, soft touch...30+ points tonight...not bad.

lol @ Australia. We've given up on rebounding and can't play PnR defence to save our lives.

I know it is hard to make world cup. I was just trying to console the fan. It has to be hard to keep losing close games.

Apparently didn't really care about this game, rested our two best players of the Cup so far, & trying to miss a next round match up with the USA.

    Still sucks to lose...

    Angola's Yanick Moriera tho...38 points & 15 boards.

Aussies lost on purpose. Now they have bigger chances to finish 3rd and escape USA in quarterfinals. and it's good Aus lost. Now it will be death match between Lithuania and Slovenia. For Lithuania it's good also, because they will finish 1st or 3rd in a group which means no USA till semis. Slovenia needs to win though.

it was a tank job to give themselves a better chance at finishing 3rd instead of 2nd in their group. 2nd means a potential meeting with usa before reaching the final 4, ie no chance at the bronze.
