He is hot garbage. Playing in the 4th Q and we were leading by 30 and he is slow running the floor back and forth, not getting into position on time. He is the worse version of Montreal Harrell which also a dumb headed, low skill player but at least Harrell will bring the energy on occasion and Black has NONE.
I get that, but I can't help but feel there are better options out there. Tarik has never seemed to have any skills or talent beyond bench warmer even back when he was starting up. I'd rather have a big young undrafted or D-league player that has some raw talent or skill that gives them a legit chance to develop.
We are on win now mode. Knowing Nene's injury history, we need someone that can step in and be effective, not somebody that we are developing.
Just like the current pg situation, everyone isn’t looking forward to DNP night after night. He’s a good value for us.
Black makes Capela tradeable, IMO. We will look different but be better overall. Yes, Capela is a better player than Black in a vacuum but Black’s play & the return on the trade of Capela is better for the team. Black is all that is needed in our system. We don’t want to pay big for mediocrity and keeping Capela is just that.
Now you are overrating Black. He is a good back up or third stringer, but by no means a starter. Capela is way underrated on this board. He has flaws, but hell no that black makes him tradeable. If we do lose Capela this summer, then I hope we can have a suitable replacement for him.
We need a vet who can jump in there when we need him and contribute even after multiple DNP's, NOT someone who has zero to minimal experience that we have to develop. We already have 3 of those players in Troy, Zhou, and Nanu, all three of which are not anywhere ready for minutes.
good backup. has definitely improved his game. plays that old-man ymca rebound game who you don't think is doing much but you turn around that team has just won 5 games in a row.
Tarik Black is ideal on this team. He is the perfect 3rd string center and much better than Harrell was last year. He can actually defend as well as attack the basket but doesn't get out of his comfort zone. Great signing.
I like this signing. Tariq gives us another dependable big that can come in and do work in the trenches. Once Nene went down, we were at times too small against the Spurs last year.
Man, Tariq Black is solid. He was decent when we had him couple years ago, but you can see he improved. Dude is smart and moves very good without the ball. I think he's going to be a very nice piece during our playoff run.
Blacks game has elevated since his last tour with the Rockets. The evolution of his play is exactly what the Rockets need now, thus making Capela at a market to above market price expendable.
