Inexperience or not, if you think a guy can contribute you play him, especially when you specifically need a body in the spot, Trez has never been a good paint defender, rebounder...and he's also too small to play center against guys like Gasol, LMA, Adams, Kanter...in two words, he's just not a center. That's why he didn't play, MDA just didn't expect him to have a positive impact.
And @Dr of Dunk wins the nickname contest for this tandem. As good as Scolandry. Clint Black probably wins with Sturdy fans, though. And it would be further urbanization of Toyota Center if they renamed the Acapella segment to Blackapela.
I forgot how he played, watch some highlights. Dude has surprising hops for his size, seems like a solid lob threat, wasn't expecting that.
very good backup C pick up for min deal. It's good he played with us before so he can come right back and fit into the culture here. I like his energy at the C spot. Can give us size in small ball line ups. Black at C, Tucker at PF, Ariza at SF is a good defensive front court for small ball.
Tarik seems like a great teammate. I remember when Dwight was hurt and had his little bench crew where he was grabbing dicks and all that...Joey Dorsey got stuffed by the rim on an embarrassing dunk attempt. Dwight and company was lol'ing hard as f and Tarik could be seen telling them all to chill out.
love the Black signing, but was shocked to see Willie Reed sign with the Clips for 1 yr $1.5 mil. WOW
I really think Black is just as good a player as Nene. Because of Nene's age I would probably want to give Black significant minutes early in the season and conserve Nene as much as possible. The rebounding is there. The finishing is there. And Black's defense is much improved.
