"Common sense". Another example of bumper sticker thinking pervasive with right wingers. Especially when confronted with complex problems. How long would the wait be to someone who cannot get insurance coverage due to a pre-existing condition? Or is that a moot question, since they simply don't get to have a catscan, or MRI. And anyone confronted with an illness or injury, especially a significant illness or injury without insurance coverage is should be plenty concerned about the number of people that have health insurance. Those without have to make difficult decisions, such as "should I buy food or seek medical attention?" or "should I go the ER?"
Yep, voting against their own best interests, meanwhile the rest of the world is learning that a happy citizenship is a healthier country. USA is not number 1....not even close anymore. DD
yea all those people out there who cant wait for $3 trillion more in taxes a year. They are just hiding. Either that or they cant find where the closest place to vote is by their dorm.
Interesting... Marsha Blackburn is speaking a a Town Hall Meeting and just made the claim that pre-existing condition coverage and children covered until age 26 on parent's policy were both republican additions to ACA. And that both would be part of any healthcare coverage plan of republicans. Seems to me that runs counter to past republican complaints that they had no input into ACA if what Blackburn claimed is true.
I've said it before, if they just change the name to something else other than Obamacare and roll it back out the Repugnicant's will be happy and claim total credit.
You were wrong when you said it before, you're wrong again. The problem with the ACA isn't that it's called "Obamacare" it's that it was a fundamentally flawed piece of legislation that has been a total train wreck in its short life, it accomplished none of the things it was supposed to accomplish and is already about to collapse upon itself due to how flawed the entire premise was. Now if the true goal was to put forth a total piece of crap that was intended to fail in order to push the people into some kind of single payer system, well then maybe it wasn't a total failure, but if the goal was to actually help people and make health insurance affordable, it failed about as poorly as it possibly could have. I mean, the entire reason something has to be done about it is that it will collapse if left in place.....that's pretty awful for something that very recently went into full effect.
That's the point though. You can't tie a few good things to a bad thing and argue that it's not so bad. I didn't think I'd have to spell that out. Saying that "not all of Obamacare is bad" is like holding on to the fact that the candy part isn't a bad thing. It's just terribly flawed reasoning.
Listen, I know you are dug into your position and thin-skinned about anybody challenging it. But I think you have to face the facts that heath care in America will look a lot more like the social security program going forward. The dems will never defeat the repubs on gun laws, and y'all will never defeat the dems on social security or health care. Just face the facts. The sooner you do, the better off you will be.
Unfortunately, this framing captures so much of what is wrong in our politics. It isn't about defeat but consensus. And the GOP long decided only defeat -- win-lose -- is an acceptable victory condition. So consensus will not be reached. Enough with the false equivalency. RNC leadership long ago acquiesced to a one-party state platform and has adopted Trump as their mascot. They do not negotiate. They do not compromise.
As the Trump administration and republicans thrash about trying to end ACA, support for ACA rises... Poll: Support for Obamacare is rising http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...obamacare-rising-despite-republican-push.html http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/obamacare-repeal-replace-poll-235245
They aren't stupid, but most people have a mix of views between democrat and Republicans. Most people support social security for example and they could be Republicans. Health care should never be a democrat leaning issue as it has been painted to be. Most people realize this, and Republicans are just going to have to swallow that, that the government has to be involved.
Many people vote against their self interest because of gun rights, abortion, ban the Muslims, restrict the gays etc, and they elect Trump.
