I was looking up the movie Rudy on imdb and it was from 1990. That movie is almost 20 years old?!?!??! Crazy. The first American Pie is almost ten years old as well. Madonna is like 50. time really flies. I'm 31 btw. Anything else trigger it for you guys? FYI, I used to post here all the time guys, and I know y'all miss me. So I pledge to post here at least 20 times a day. You're welcome.
Rudy was from 1993, and yes, that does make me feel old. I know this is when it came out because it was showing when I had my first job as an usher in a movie theater, and I had to hear the ending about 100 times while cleaning up afterwards. I'm 31 too BTW.
It occurred to me the other day that it has been a decade since I was in high school. That sort of just blew me away.
yes. i get it when.. -i see mutombo play and remember when he was a rookie. -youngsters pull up to me next to a stoplight and i rollup my windows because their radio is loud as hell. -my knees started hurting last weekend playing bball with some of the board members here. will think of more later. thx for bringing that up. me too.
it happens everytime I look in the mirror. My handsome features are fading away with evey day that passes.
Yes, I get that feeling too sometimes. I actually started a thread on it a few months ago: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=141101
I remember pulling up to a red light on my bike and two hot girls in a ragtop pulled up next to me. While the driver and I were making eyes and smiling at each other, her passenger asked how old I was. 29 I shouted. Oops. Just then the light turned green and they sped off yelling, "TOO OLD". Those "firsts" can really break your heart.
My 20th HS reunion didn't do it but just last week a guy who was like a brother just became a grandfather and he's the first of my old friends to become one. 10.5 months til I hit 40

I still remember my first feeling old moment and that was waaaaay back in college. I was playing outfield in our intramural softball league. There was a group of young kids playing on a field behind us. Some little girl tells another little kid "watch out, don't get in that man's way". That was the first time anyone had called me a man. It still made me feel old for that few seconds though.
when people at a party realize how old you are and ask you to buy some beer. A lot of people think I'm younger though, some even think I'm only 18 or 19. But when I tell them I'm 22, they kind of pause and say "oh". I never really got that before. And I also feel old when I see Steve Francis declining and starting to look old. I still remember hearing about the trade on draft day on this site. And I also never had to have a BBS unsername until Yao got drafted and there was a influx of new members. I couldn't access it b/c Clutch only let the members view it. And now it's been 6 years since that day!!
Ah I got mine a few months ago when I realized that I no longer should be at an 18+ club. I had a conversation with a girl kind of went like this? Girl: So your in school? Me: No i finished about a year ago. Girl: Cool I graduate in May. Me: UofH? Girl: No Mayde Creek. Me: Oh I graduated there 6 years ago. Girl: wow can you buy me a drink? Me: Um I gotta go
I get those moments all the time. -I am starting to lose my hair -that which is not falling out is turning gray -I gain weight by just looking at food -muscles I didn't even know I had ache from time to time -I make the old man noise when I get up off the couch. -my memory isn't quite what it used to be -The movies I loved when I was in high school are 20 years old Ugh...what a crappy start to a Sunday. I think I'm going to...I forgot what I was going to do.
For all of y'all in your late 20's feeling old there's really no reason too. Thanks to better health and nutrition you can still maintain your physical peak well into your 30's and women in their 30's are still pretty hot. Heck women in their 40's now can still be hot. At the same time you're going to have more disposal income than you did in your 20's to enjoy life. That is if you don't have a family yet.
