i did not doubt their effort, what a tried to point out is that they did not play in the right way, at least i think so. i believe a 5/26 performance is ridiculous, even for guards. and i do not even really care whether this is one of the best playing for honets, what i care is rox did not show their petential tonight. it obiviouly ,if we played more rationally, we can win for 15 or more easily.
You are right. We played down to the competition. They came out with no fire or hustle. Most of the team seemed uninterested in this game...until the Hornets started getting confident. That's when it got the Rockets attention. I think it would have been embarrassing to loose this game. So, their pride took over. But you are right. They didn't take this game seriously or play to their full potential.
birdman: This will be news to you since this is apparently your first year following the NBA, but: You don't get extra credit for winning by more points. A win is a win. We did what we needed to to win and we won. Mission accomplished. And I'll say again, you wanted Yao to be more involved? Me, too! Call him up and tell him to call for the ball. Call him up and tell him to dominate. Nobody's stopping him but him. Not JVG or Steve Francis or Bobby Sura or T-Mac. The only person slowing Yao's development is Yao. And I cannot freaking wait til he figures that out and fixes it. But in the meantime, the NBA's not going to get more polite just because you'd like it to. If Yao wants something, he's going to have to reach out and take it. And if you want something from Yao, you'd be better served telling him to get more aggressive than telling his team to get less.
thank you batman, our names is so similar, that is interesting. in fact, though i logined a accout here only recently, but i am not a rookie for watching nba, the history can be much longer. i know a win is a win, but the mission is still far far away from accomplishment. when can we say a win is a win? i think we can only say this in the final game of the finals. what makes us more and more stonger? in my opinion, it is just what the game teaches us.we must keep on learning something from the game, from every winning or losing, i do not think this is hard to understand, maybe this is a difference between chinese culture and american culture.we chinese believe it is always too early to say a winning is ok,and with which i will agree. i have never said that yao is perfect, he has flaws, some of which is even obvious, but without teamates' support, he can never overcome them, yao need to get more chance to attack the ring in the game, and he is a center, he need passes, if we do not let him to shot in the game, how can he prove he has figured it out to all you guys?
yes you are right. That's the part of reason why a lot of fans here don't like YOF. I'm a YOF but reasonnble and now I am also a Rockets fan. I want to see win. And by the way I also take an eye on SF3's team.
yes, you are amazing, how can you do this?have you considerd to launch your own autobiography based on this miracle?
Are you deliberately trying to be obtuse?(Sorry, just saw SR ) Good god, Batman just explained to you why Yao DIDN'T get the ball more. Is it that tough for you to understand? You have to hold Yao accountable for some of his own shortcommings.
I'm pretty sure this Idiot would have been happy if yao scored 40 and we lost. to these people only yao's Success matters. not the Rox
i did not see any regulation here says some thread wll be seem as a waste, i creat this thread, that's all right, i give some personal opinion about the game, i did not discuss anything meaningless, i collected the statistics from the official site of NBA, if there anybody did not notice those statistics they can find them here in my thread, i discussed our guards' performance, all these connect to the game, connect to the subject of this site. if i want to post a thread, i cant believe i must get permission or bless from somebody else. we discuss here, nobody can tell anyone else something he can do while something he can not. that's free speech, which in my view shall be chereished especially for a public forum.
We won! Now let's bash the team because one player didn't get enough shots. This is exactly what has lessened the quality of this board. Most fans love a win, we want to be happy, and celebritory when our team wins. Threads like this are a real buzz kill to fans of the Rockets.
So you looked at the box score without even watching the game and made an ignorant assumption based on that? And you think that's 'your right', to post whatever you want? Just to let you know, it isn't your 'right' to post on this board, it's not run by the government, it's run by a few guys that love the ROCKETS, not just Yao. If they want to take away your 'privilege' to post here they can do it whenever they feel like. So don't think you can come up with stupid crap that has no realistic basis and say "oh i can post whatever I want, b/c that's free speech" You want free speech? You're a complete moron. That's my view...free speech, right? (moron comment ment as an example)
2 fouls in the first quarter it wasn't the guards' fault ... I got the feeling at one point they REALLY didn't want to shoot at all - but Yao was covered up. if you want to blame anyone blame the management that didn't get a banger PF - if we had a banger to get rebounds, whenever Yao was fronted, he could step out and shoot the 15 footer ... but when he steps out... there is no one there to rebound !
I agree 100 %! The obvious weakness on our team is our 4 position but these guys want to always blame our guards. Our guards are not the greatest but they are not our biggest weakness right now.
This is part of the reason that Yao is nothing more than just a good player that tends to disappear from time to time.
