Man those Knick fans are dumb....one proposed Douglas and Curry for Battier and Jeffries. Sure we take some off the lux tax but come on. Do we look this dumb when fans from other teams come to CF?
Really? What happened to all that cap space? Did it get eaten up in the Randolph and David Lee deal? DD
Amar'e Stoudemire $16,500,000 Eddy Curry $11,276,863 Raymond Felton $7,700,000 Ronny Turiaf $4,200,000 Danilo Gallinari $3,304,560 Kelenna Azubuike $3,300,000 Timofey Mozgov $3,000,000 Wilson Chandler $2,130,482 Anthony Randolph $1,965,720 Toney Douglas $1,071,000 Bill Walker $854,389 TOTAL $55,303,014 http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9155
they also have the option of signing their rookies rautins and fields which would probably at about add 1.5 million to that figure
Curry - $11.276 million Jeffries $6.883 million The Rockets aren't getting under the tax with a trade with the Knicks. The Knicks tried to include Curry in the T-Mac deal but Morey would have none of it. He was the player they tried trading to anywhere last season. Curry has negative trade value and the Knicks just want him off the team. That's why they're offering picks. This guy has been deemed too fat to play under Coach Pringles for how long?
I highly doubt that they would give up Randolph just to get back Jeffries. Then again I never would have guessed that they would give us Jordan Hill and 2 possible lottery picks to get rid of him.
This is the most realistic proposal I've seen, but I don't think the Rockets would want to part with Ariza so easily. This move also makes it significantly more difficult to reduce or eliminate the luxury tax burden on the team, since moving Curry's $11.5M expiring contract at the deadline will be a lot tougher than moving Jeffries's $6.9M deal would have been. I'm also not that big a fan of Randolph. Frankly, I just don't see any good trades for the Rockets to make with the Knicks that involve taking back Eddy Curry. Even if Randolph is involved.
How about no sideways trades, and we keep our roster until the deadline. Then Morey can try to poach some desperate GM out of a star player. Seriously, let's give the kids a chance to play and see what they've got.
She had a few minor presentation issues, mostly involving segues, but all in all, I would say she is pretty awesome.
The Rockets would at the minimum need to include Taylor + Harris + Johnson just to make the salaries work to trade for Curry alone. It's not ideal to use Harris and/or Johnson in a trade if they're looking to get under the tax. Add Randolph to the mix and the Rockets are likely including Hill to the deal. So the Knicks win out as they're basically getting the trade they had originally wanted when they dealt for T-Mac.
