Speaking of Randolph: Is injury a significant concern? He was out a bunch of games last year. He also reminds me of Jonathan Bender for some reason.
I think that was the only time that he had been injured. It was a pretty bad ankle injury, but he looked good coming back. Still, i can see the concern.
Battier skills is dropping?? Dude you don't know what you're talking about. You have understand the logic and reason why he's dropping. He dropped because Yao Ming was out the entire season. His game complement Yao's game a lot more than you think. He was superb when Yao was playing.
Dude - maybe you need to look at the facts: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/battish01.html Battier's PER actually went up last year with Yao out. A player that is 32 and climbing with a PER hovering around 10-11 - for the past 3 years. Do you really think a somewhat healthy Yao is going to help him. His FG% is on the wrong side of 40. I loved him a few years ago but reality is he's a spot up 3 pt shooting floor coach with sliding D.
At the beginning of each season Battier starts off slow or is out because of an ankle condition that will never heal. It seems like he needs longer to get going in every new season. He wasn't able too finish last season becuase of this injury.
Absolutely. Battier's days as a Rocket have been numbered for years now. First Adelman, who emphasizes offense took over, his days were numbered. Then the Rockets got Ron Artest to replace him, his days were numbered. Next the Rockets got Ariza for a long term deal, Battier's days were once again numbered. Finally Battier's contract is expiring, this is the final Nailon the coffin, his days are fully and finally further numbered.
Shooting below 40% for a guy who shoots 90% of his attempts from three is horrible. Man we should get rid of him ASAP. or oooo, next lets use PER, an offensive metric based heavily on usage, and see how he ranks there. After all, his role on this team is to be a high usage offensive player and not a spot up shooter and lock down defender. or Instead of that, we could get some fans who actually have critical thinking skills and not grab some arbitrary stats and incorrectly interpret them to form thier opinions.
With PER, can I point out that Bruce Bowen consistently had a single-digit PER when he was literally kicking everyone else's butt on the defensive end?
This is absolutely hilarious coming from you...lol. Just take a look at the grade inflation in this thread that you created where we can all see your "critical thinking skills" on display: http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showthread.php?t=185263&page=1&pp=20 Then when people ridiculed your "analysis" and essentially said that you lack critical thinking skills yourself, your response was to say that maybe we are all just bad fans. Take some of your own advice next time and stop being a hypocrite.
Yes, I am not sure why he's important enough to have his own saying or how he's related to coffins, but I hear it a lot, at least in my part of the country.
Mr. Intangibles: Battier or Jeffries? If one is traded for LT purposes. Could the other be just as good? http://www.basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1071 http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/22/jeffries-dantoni-cares-about-knicks-defense/ http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/12132/watch-jared-jeffries http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/11746/jared-jeffries-difference-maker
