I absolutely love that trade especially because it involves Jason Terry. Terry, who is the definition of Rocket killer, would be a perfect fit for this team. We get two bonuses with this addition, no more Terry hurting us and a hands down balla.

First off, Diop isn't with the Mavericks anymore. He got traded to the Bobcats. And sure it looks decent on paper, on second thought it's not even that great of a lineup on paper, Artest would never fit in with that team. He'd be pretty much stuck in the same situation he is in here but worse. First of all, Artest doesn't fit well with Kidd's fastbreaking mentality. So you have two players in Josh Howard and Artest whose production suffers because of Kidd. Secondly, Dirk is another ball stopper in the offense. You'll see the same problems with the molasses like offense that we are currently having, happen in Dallas.

Artest to Cleveland, Sczerbiak to New Jersey, Vince Carter to Houston.

others to make the salaries match.

He won't net you a point guard worth the trouble.

Thats great cabbage, I would also really think Mcgrady and Vince would be really motivated, Vince would be focused to try to get his cousin past the 1st round and McGrady would just love teaming up with him..

what a gamble....Artest in cleveland with lebron and the way they have been playing defense....then having to see them in the finals....play with fire and you will get burn....ron for vince works you just have to add head, dorsey, and hayes....that is why is said send them money so they can buyout hayes and we just resign him....just like detriot and denver

Well, let's not get carried away. Trading for Vince Carter won't solve McGrady's problems if our already loaded roster hasn't done the job.

But given Cleveland's unyielding intent to acquire some big time help for Lebron, and NJ's desire to shed payroll, Vince Carter is probably the most realistic name I've heard thrown out.

Ray Felton isn't worth the loss of what Ron brings to this team in a playoff series, and I'm not sure Hinrich is worth it. And the list of point guards ends there.

On the contrary, I think they would trip over themselves to get that deal done before it fell apart. Artest makes that team the easy favorite to win the title.

Instead of Miller, I would say Stephen Jackson. Yeah he has had problems in the past, but who hasn't. He makes a little under what Artest makes. He has a good three pt shot, he hustles, plays with emotion, and has above average Defense.

Ron Artest is much more valuable and I would expect two decent players for him and Head. :p
I do like the Jackson idea though!
WE never trade with Dallas!!! Besides that Terry would never be the Floor General we need.- No thanks!

Wow that is sad and Artest is close to a 40% shooter from the 3 this year with us. LOL... With that stat line right there why would you trade.

The lack of a floor general didn't seem to bother Dallas three years ago when they went all the way to the Finals. And if it weren't for the NBA refs rigging the series in Miami's favor, Dallas would've been champs. It was the notion of getting a floor general (Jason Kidd) that did Dallas in. And who needs a floor general when we have Mr. Point-Forward in Tracy McGrady :D

    Yes I would.

We were a fine defensive team before Artest.

Our problems this season are spacing and chemistry. At this point adding Artest has had very marginal benefits.

Artest is a great two way player, I agree, but his offensive skills like posting up the smaller guard isn't something we need. We don't need someone crowding up the post for Yao or clogging up slashing lanes for TMac and Alston. Alston mentioned we often get caught up in one-on-one match ups and I think both TMac and Artest are guilty of this. There's also the question of who gets the ball at the end of the game.

We win games when we hit the outside shot efficiently. Miller can help our offense flow much better and is quicker than Artest in getting out in transition. TMac trusts Mike Miller to take shots, they have an established chemistry and its the same with Mike Miller and Shane Battier.

Last season proved that chemistry and trusting each other is much more powerful than anything statistic on paper. Those suggesting we trade Battier over Artest need to get a life.

Those suggesting we trade for Terry need to refresh their understanding of Money Ball and the CBA, as well as seriously reflect how it will impact our playoff run if we were to send Artest to another Western Conference contender.

U know the diference between La and Hou? La is about winning titles and houston is worried about player popularity. U think La is worried about Odom making 16 m on the bench? If u think you can acquire better players , u do it and u sacrifice whomever. Dawson traded a very good pf at the chance of getting greatness in clyde and it worked. Who cares if Terry has this season plus 3? Who cares if u have to give up shane. Who cares if tracy and miller were buddies? Who cares if shane and miller are buddies? This is the buddy network. This isn't lets play games and hold hands. Its about winning rings while you have the chance This window closes fast and sometimes the window was never opened. Look at phoenix, dall, and adelman's kings and how quickly those windows shut down. Its all about now and the next 3 because look at La and their young talent. Look at Portland and Utah. Look at cleveland and orlando. I don't care who I have to trade to get a ring. Shane, ron, tracy, yao, rafer, scola, who give a f**k! Win the ring!
