It's because of priceless slipups like these that the Rockets should sign Clyde to a lifetime contract. Almost makes up for Calvin being gone!

I agree, you don't change your opinion of them. You just keep quiet about those opinions because that person is dead and doesn't affect you anymore in anyway. I used b**** about what a loser my Uncle was when he was alive. Now he is dead, I still think he was a loser, but I just don't bring it up in conversation anymore.

Because it became obvious he was not a screw-up but a person who had deep mental problems that were never properly addressed. It is a shame that his life went the way it did so its best to not insult him.

How am I a dick...was it that I was being real about it?

He died, everyone dies, that doesnt mean he all of a sudden was an all-star caliber player. Yes, he had his moments but Glide was pointing out how we traded RJ + 2 players for EG and mentioned how it EG never panned out for us. Imagine a Tmac RJ Yao threesome. As I said earlier they shouldnt joke about him like it was, but neither should they stop being real and start saying how he was a great player.

I was not broken up when calvin was gone. However when I listen to old clips it was nice to hear someone who actually cared.

    Fire Clyde

Some pretty callous/inhuman remarks in this thread.

Hey buddy,it might not be EVERY moment because life is about living in the now...And,yes a person's death sure as hell doesn't define their existence,it's who they were, how they lived.

BUT....I don't think you'd ever make a comment like that if you lost someone extremely close to you.....especially under tragic circumstances.

Pointing out and making fun of some one is two seperate things. Clyde's tone clealy had mockery in it.

Eddie's problems were for the most part self destructive (especcially post rockets) while I think hitler focused his anger outwards (not sure)

Nobody's saying someone should necessarilly be cannonized after death, but show a a little class and respect.

And based on your comments you have none.

I'm pretty sure it was Clyde who made the Andy Griffith remark.

Should they not have said anything? Sure. But it's not like he said "too bad EG wasn't as accurate shooting in the NBA as he was driving into the side of that train".
