i just had a sandwich for lunch it was pretty good too. PB and J sandwiches are always bomb but yeah I couldnt eat like them every day but once a week isnt a bad option. the other day I was thinking i buying some bread and pb and j when i was at work just so i could make myself a pb&j and a co-worker said that wouldnt fill her up and that she would need like 5 of them. i was like damn thats crazy the most i could have in one sitting is like two. but yeah sandwiches are a-ok in my book. it would be weird if someone had a sandwich for dinner (not counting burgers but like a regular deli style sandwich) all the time
If you are ever in San Francisco, you should go to Siagon Sandwiches! Its this little shop ran by 2 ladies and the line for it is always 20 people deep outside the store. And its only $3!
I'll say that I pretty much did not know these people exist. Sure, I know people who order the same thing for lunch everyday, but they would still eat something different for dinner. And they would change things up once in a while. Also, $20 sandwiches!? That thing better be big enough for a party of 4.
I eat a sandwich for lunch every single day, not because I want to or anything, but because it is convenient, cheap, and fast to eat. <br> After 6 years of doing it, I have to say it is that nastiest thing ever..
Vietnamese sandwiches are overrated and the overrating tends to come from Vietnamese people. I worked in San Jose for a year and had a Vietnamese friend that said they were the best. We would go out and eat them at least once a week. I tried several different kinds but they were nothing special (they weren't bad, either). Most of all, they were just dirt cheap ($2 or $3). He still thinks they are the best. The first time I went to get one I figured they would be totally unique, from the bread to the stuff inside. The bread is basically your standard french bread kind of roll while the stuff inside is slightly unique but still just meat and vegetables in the end. By the way, carrot slices are not good on sandwiches. Conclusions: Vietnamese sandwiches are the best = myth Other Vietnamese food (soups, noodles, beverages, etc...) are much, much better. I'll take a good Philly cheesesteak, gyro or pastrami sandwich any day over the best Vietnamese sandwich. When I was in Italy, the sandwiches they had at little shops and delis were awesome, too. Those are the best foreign sandwiches I've had so far.
My god, the sandwich obession is real! I thought it was just me, I saw another forum debating weather subway was better or Jimmy Johns, wow..pretty bad when you can't even get away from sandwich talk on a basketball forum....ok, I'm guilty of eating a sandwich or two during the weekends even when my co worker is not around.
I goto a place in Houston called Les Givral's and it's like 2.75 for a huge one. I love it. Well, i'm hispanic. Carrot slices = yumz I love the noodles too. Beef and pork <3 I wish they were open today!!!!!!!!
I said the vast majority tend to be Vietnamese. The fact that you're hispanic and think Vietnamese sandwiches are great doesn't change that. You are just an exception to the rule. I stick to my claims: Vietnamese sandwiches are overrated and most of that overrating tends to come from Vietnamese people. Other Vietnamese food is great, their sandwiches are not. The sandwiches are just cheap and average-at-best in terms of taste.

Everyone that I have given it to didn't say "they were the best" but they said it tasted awesome. They were non-vietnamese and it was about five folks that I have introduced it to. As a "Vietnamese people", I wouldn't say there are the best myself but they are pretty damn tasty and they ARE the best for the money. I think YOU are an exception to the rule.
